Amy Winehouse was thrilled the BRIT Awards were held on Valentine's Day this year - because it meant she didn't have to buy her boyfriend a gift.
The singer, who was named British Female at Wednesday night's ceremony (14.02.07), took her chef lover Alex to the prestigious event for his Valentine's treat.
She said: "It let us both off the hook so we don't have to impress each other."
Amy also took her parents to the BRITs, where she wowed the crowd with a performance of her hit 'Rehab'.
After receiving her award, the usually outspoken singer paid tribute to her parents, saying: "I'm just glad my mum and dad could be here. It's amazing."
