Paula Abdul insists she has never been inebriated

NEW YORK - Who do we believe, our own eyes, or what Paula Abdul's latest claim is, never having been drunk? Abdul's odd behavior on "American Idol" has prompted much discussion if there's a flask or "water bottle" nearby whilst she judges contestants on the Fox talent contest.
Abdul, the 44-year-old "Idol" judge tells Us Weekly magazine in its Feb. 16 issue. "I've never been drunk. I have never done recreational drugs," she says. "Just look at my 20-year career. Tell me someone who is into partying or doing drugs that could have done that."
In her five years on "Idol," Abdul a singer and choreographer has suffered criticism about her behavior, which has included slurred speech, and other visibly affected head rolling and eyes askew in interviews.
"There have been 100 million lies about me," says Abdul, who has said she's taken prescription medication for health problems, including arthritis. "I'm squeaky clean. I've worked my ass off my entire life. (But) being involved in the show causes people to question everything."
"I have never missed a live show," Abdul notes. "Even when I had surgery on my hand (for an infection caused by a botched manicure in 2004), I left my hospital bed to go to the show."

Paula is always saying she's never intoxicated or high on HARD drugs. But remember 2 yrs. ago, she was crying in an interview blaming prescription drugs for her slurring words & uncontrolled body movements on Amer. Idol. So it's definitely something causing her irratic behaviour. And her behaviour is very very strange at times. Anna Nicole Smith acted the same way too - and we know what happened to her. Paula perk up or wise up.....prescription drugs are just as deadly if not taken properly or controlled.

She admitted to taking prescription drugs for arthritis and other ailments. Pain medications are one of the most abused drugs in our country. They are potent, legal, and readily available. Others include anti-depressants, muscle relaxants, and sleeping pills. All of these can cause slurred speech, bizarre behavior, and ADDICTION...
Well said Nick!! Exactly, abuse & addiction to prescription drugs seems to be the new Trend these days with celebrities & even regular folks! Everyday there is a new medication being advertised on TV & people are just jumping at the chance to pop stupid pills into their mouth. Remember when Paxil came out? It was so popular.Now Paxil has so many lawsuits for health concerns including deaths that the company has hired attorneys to help their other attorneys with the backload of complaints.Paula....hope you reading this! Get help before you end up too young & overdosed too like Anna Nicole Smith.

She's never been drunk or high? Then how does she explain her behavior, ie slurred speech, head rolling, etc.? One news release stated she was 'exhausted'. Riiiggghhttttt. I've seen exhausted and it doesn't look or sound like that. She needs to fess up or quit doing interviews while she's 'exhausted'.
