Anna Nicole Smith's dead husband, billionaire J. Howard Marshall, could be her daughter Dannielynn's father, it has been claimed.
Anna Nicole's sister, Donna Hogan, says the former Playboy Playmate froze the 89-year-old's sperm and may have used it to get pregnant.
Anna Nicole married the Texan oil tycoon in 1994, but he died the following year.
Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern - who bears the names of two of her possible fathers - was born in the Bahamas five months ago and has been the subject of a bitter paternity battle.
Anna Nicole was ordered to have her daughter undergo a paternity test just days before she tragically died last week, after photographer Larry Birkhead filed a lawsuit claiming he fathered Dannielynn during a two-year affair.
The former model insisted Howard K Stern - her lawyer and lover - was the father of the child. He is named as the father on Dannielynn's birth certificate.
Stern flew to the Bahamas at the weekend to see Dannielynn.
As he held her he sobbed: "This is the only piece of Anna I have left."
However, Anna Nicole's mother Virgie Arthur - who also spent the weekend in the Bahamas trying to convince child services to let her care for the child - accused Stern of only grieving because he had lost his "meal ticket".
She said she believed Birkhead is Dannielynn's biological father.
Birkhead's lawyer Debra Opri said: "Everybody is in agreement that the child must be removed from Stern's environment."
Prince Frederic von Anhalt - gay husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor - joined the paternity battle on Friday (09.02.07) by claiming he had a ten-year affair with Anna Nicole.
Allegedly a reported well known fibber, even Zas Zsa said he was spouting rubbish, he claimed up to 30 men could be Dannielynn's father.
Whoever is ruled to be Dannielynn's father will take control of Anna Nicole's estate and the £240 million she could inherit from Marshall's estate.
Stern faced more heartache at the weekend after discovering the locks had been changed on the house he shared with Anna Nicole.
Anna Nicole, 39, was pronounced dead in Florida's Memorial Regional Hospital at around 2.45pm on Thursday (08.02.07).
The Florida medical examiner said it could take several weeks to establish the cause of death, amid reports the model had been drinking heavily and prescription drugs were found in her hotel room.

i feel the same way
I think this is probably one of the most selfish things I've heard lately...I mean, geez!! She obviously knew she was a mother of a newborn, yet she selfishly goes on a binge, knowing what could happen. How could she not know what could happen? And, this thing about her being depressed about her son's death, well, yeah, no doubt she was, but she still has the priority of raising her newborn. And, with all these guys coming forward to claim paternity!! Come on! That poor little girl's life is already a travesity and she doesn't even comprehend anything yet. I think the best thing that could happen to her is that she was put up for adoption and a nice, subtle, quiet, not famous couple adopts her and lets her be a kid and grow up into a nice, normal woman.
Has anyone ever seen a photo of Anna pregnant? Is it possible it is not even biologically her child?
Who leaves their infant in another country so they can drink & gamble? If Stern 'loved' this baby so much, why was he a party to that kind of child neglect? Why did he go with Anna and leave the baby in the Bahamas? Any person who leaves their five month old for more than a few hours is a pathetic excuse for a parent.
I think this is all just pure clean fun, like the rest of the life of this 'celebrity.' Hogan-Smith had no talents whatsoever (and she was not very good in bad either by the way) so she gave us Howard K Stern, the E! reality show, the court fights with the Marshall family, etc. It is befitting that her departure is as entertaining as the rest of her life, with at least 80 lawyers involved now in treasure hunting in the Bahamas, and all kind of neardentals such as the Sza Sza 'prince' emerging from under the stones where they have been hiding. Of course no one cares about Hogan-Smith (no one ever cared), no one cares about her late son (no one ever cared), and no one cares about her daughter (no one, including Hogan-Smith, ever cared). How long before the baby dies as well? With Howard K Stern and his Methadon bottles around, the 'unexpected' and 'untimely' and 'mysterious' death of the Hogan-Smith baby is of course, at best, a matter of weeks.
How convenient for all these deaths to happen over-seas where the results of autopsies can be more easily influenced with money than here in the States.
How convenient that her son dies then she dies right after she has a kid.
How convenient that both the dead already have a history of chemical abuse.
How convenient that the father of the kid will get the ill-gotten millions.
How inconvenient that the same person was in the room when both people died.
Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Her son died in the Bahamas, she died in Florida, in the United States. Howard K. Stern was there when her son died, he was not there when she died. Maybe you should be sure of your fact before you try to connect the dots. Oh and why do you always assume that other countries can be bribed, the Bahamas is not a back water nation
I think it is very sad what had happened to Anna and her son. I feel really bad for her infant daughter. My thought and prayers are with Anna and her family. RIP. I liked Anna and thought she was a very pretty and funny women.I hope they find out what happened to to her. I also think that Howard K Stern is not the baby's father. I do think that the baby should be removed from his care ASAP.I do believe that the other guy Larry Berkhead is the father and as soon as the partenity test come back he should get full custody of the child.

14 months of marrige, lets see that's 604,800 hours. Divide that into $500mil and you get $827 an hour. Not bad, not bad at all. And how long has Anna and Howard been together?

I never could understand what all the attraction was about her. She was a Skank, did'nt even deserve to have a child. Poor kid.
2bit - by that logic the majority of mothers in the projects are unfit, most teenage moms as well as a large portion of those living in poor parts of the city. Heck by that definition only responsible, educated hard working women should have children. And those are the ones that are putting off children to further their careers, we all know children and the corporate ladder don't mix.
Anyway, to make a long point short I agree.
Anna Nicole is called “beautiful” by many a media pundit. But such an assertion begs the question of what is beautiful.
First, true physical beauty is related to genuine radiance and vitality - ultimately to good health. Secondly, soul beauty it is related to something that shines from the person – a moral force or charismatic inspiration that energizes others. In this second category, someone like Mother Teresa with all of her wrinkles is truly beautiful.
Anna Nicole (not even her name is real) was propped up by one fake thing after another. Fake blonde wigs, fake teeth, fake eyelashes and a heavy paste of other make-up, plastic surgery throughout her body (lots of it over and over again- especially her boobs) pills to take her down, pills to bring her up, pills to loose weight, fake clothes, fake friends.
As for soul beauty – there was none to my eye. She spoke with slurred words and a vacant, vapid look in her eyes. She said or did nothing that could inspire or illumine anyone. It was a lurid life of show and pretense.
If she can be called “beautiful” then it is only in the way a gaudy plastic flower may seem alluring if you don't get up close and personal, or if you have never seen or felt the real thing.
This is not to say, I don't feel compassion for her - its a sad life, really. A life sucked up by media vampires.
But 'beautiful'???? Its astonishing how many are unable to perceive and know real beauty.

I feel sorry for the kid, I'm not sure anyone really cares about her, I believe they are just after the money. Sad...
On the other hand nobody seems suprised that the identity of the father is as of yet unknown, what does that say about the mother?
I'll miss her as much as I'd miss the penicillin shots I'd need if I'd had a romp with her.
