NEW YORK - Move over no name runway stick insects, the curvaceous and beautiful real women of New York hit the catwalk in a special Fashion Week extravaganza that featured the first major runway show of the event with women of all shapes, sizes, ages and colors.

The attending crowd loved the new take on fashion chic.
Seen were many stars including stunning actress Angela Bassett wearing a dress by designer Carmen Marc Valvo, in a charity event runway show featuring celebrities wearing red dresses to raise awareness about heart disease.
The Heart Truth show is now an annual event in which celebrities wear red dresses created for them by famous designers. Heart Truth is part of the Red Dress project, a federal initiative spearheaded by first lady Laura Bush, to raise awareness of heart disease and prevention.
Tennis great Billie Jean King wearing Gustavo Cadilegot a standing ovation n her red Adidas sneakers, and this might be a sign that fashion industry insiders are more willing to accept a broader spectrum of women who exceed the social x-ray null sizes that permeate the industry.
First Lady Laura Bush was there, and donned a crimson Bill Blass skirt suit. She was accompanied by Blass designer Michael Vollbracht and Carolina Herrera, reports the New York Post.
Fashion Week showings will include Ralph Lauren, BCBG Max Azria, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, John Bartlett and Perry Ellis.
Red Dress Collection included celebrity models Kelly Ripa, Lauren Hutton and Angela Bassett. One-shoulder goddess gowns were worn by actress Kim Cattrall for Carolina Herrera and tv host Rachael Ray for Donna Karan, while actress Marlee Matlin wore a sweetheart-neck strapless gown by Douglas Hannant.
Miss Universe Zuleyka Rivera's Gustavo Cadile dress paid homage to her Puerto Rican roots with a fiery red color, tiered dance skirt and bolero jacket.
CNN anchor Paula Zahn's V-neck draped gown by Bill Blass and eternally stunning Lauren Hutton was the perfect model for Narciso Rodriguez's architectural gown with sheer short sleeves.
Even race-car driver brunette beauty Danica Patrick got into the act and wore a loose short-sleeve gown by Jovovich-Hawk that featured a heart embroidery at the center of its empire waist, reported the Washington Post.
