Who cares if she is black. If she is at fault, she is at fault. Once these stupid people realize that, that might get a life. Stop being upset because your check from the government hasn't come in yet for reporations. If it does come let me know, because I'm going to buy stock in KFC, Cadillac, and some Colt 45 malt liquor, and live off the stocks!!

How dare you sir imply that we have an agenda. You must be a white devil and unfit to judge an oppressed black woman.

This is what the problem is with our media today. People who are not even involved with this horrible situation are out there casting their opinions into the pot. For all we know Brandy has been in constant communication with the family of the woman who died, asking for their forgiveness. She may have even paid for the funeral. No one knows but the people involved, so everyone who is turning this into a black/white scenario shame on you. It just reminds me of the little boy who cried wolf all the time. When something of a true racial injustice does happen no one believes because this call has been yelled too many times in places where it should not be.

Yeah, she is in such constant contact, that they have already decided to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Saint Brandy.

Every time one of these celebrities breaks the law, including killing other motorists by slamming into them from behind, the NAACP claims it has something to do with race. That reminds me of a guy I knew a few years ago, and when I told him I couldn't stand being around him, he said 'that's because I am a Black man'. I said, 'ahem, no, it is because you are an a-hole'. Why do African Americans insist on playing the race card every time they turn around? Do they feel as if they should not be prosecuted for crimes they commit? Do they feel they should receive preferential treatment when they break laws and kill people? Do they feel that forever forward, they should be immune from prosecution because someone in their family tree suffered in their life a hundred years ago? It is going from the ridiculous to the sublime. Flash: If you break the law, hit someone from behind in a car, you are automatically at fault, and the applicable laws are reviewed. We don't care if you are Caucasian, Afro American, Indian, green with purple polka-dots. Grow up and take responsibility for your life and quit asking everyone else to do it for you.

Not everything n the world is a conspiracy you loons. You've got to love the SaddamBushhitlerHalliburtonHurricaneMachine crowd. They can't construct a reasonable arguement so they resort to stupid ad hominem comments and completely irrelevant references.

This is how the law WORKS, get a clue. Prosecutorial discretion is PART OF IT you retards and for a REASON.

It must be hard being so stupid and clueless.

Kerry could still win the stolen election too, I hear...

Innocent until proven guiltyJan 30th, 2007 - 22:59:54

How is she being targeted because of her celebrity status or being black?

CHP has compiled the evidence and presents to the DA who then decides to proceed with charges. A jury of her peers will determine quilt or innocence.

Based on the charges, the most severe punishment is 1 year in jail. But realistically, the average Joe would get a year of probation, driver education, and 1000-2000 community service.

This assumes that she was not distracted while driving. Talking on phone, putting on make up, eating, etc. All can be proven.

Because of her financial status, she will face a Wrongful Death suit.

This was an unfortunate accident. Could it have been prevented? We don't know, we don't have all the facts. But keep this in mind...

...On your way home from work today, when you look down to see the radio button to push, you can just as easily miss the fact that the driver in front of you has slowed suddenly. Do you deserve to go to jail for hitting the lottery of the unlucky? Again, assuming you were not distracted as stated above.

Well, I'm going to say that Zari & American Girl pretty much summed up what I'm thinking- and if ANYTHING, things seem to be moving 'slower' in the investigation- could be because of special 'celebrity' treatment?? This whole situation didn't have anything to do with race until the HOPE group spoke up.

No matter what the outcome, I'm sure she will get special treatment solely for her celebrity status.

And I have to think that applies to ANY & ALL 'celebrities' that break the law or are involved in unfortunate situations.

Shame on all the people who keep spouting their racial thoughts of how they think black people are. This is why we need to educate ourselves about each other and get to know someone of a different ethnicity, if we all did this, it would not be so easy to sit behind a computer and type things like buying stocks in the cadillac and KFC companies, because that's the only image you have been feed or have chosen to see. only someone who is misinformed and miseducated would put negativity like that into the universe. Stop believing everything you see about black from the evening news or in music videos our communities are just like everyone elses with hardworking people and families. Living day to day.

I'm white, I'm not a fan of hers, I barely know who she is. I am not saying she should get off, but from what I read, she did admit to being at fault. She didn't blame anyone else. That's taking responsibility in my eyes. I have to give Brandy credit for that.

That's right. Not all black people grab their crotch, say 'know what I'm saying', sell drugs, drive cadillacs, eat fried chicken, or kick ass at all sports except hockey. Just take lovely stroll down me and bask in the family culture.

So.. if someone rear-ended Brandy on the freeway hard enough to send her car into another lane and be killed ... then you would say 'that person should go free, it was an accident' ? I don't think so!
