The smell of Goody, not so good to Indians

Blue Monday Big Brother news: The stink of the recent Big Brother house brouhaha has left participant and bellicose blue-collar Jade Goody without a bottler for her ironically titled Shh fragrance.
The Times of India report that a plant in India which makes perfume bottles endorsed by British television star Jade Goody has stopped production following the Big Brother news of Jade and Shilpa's ugly back and forth exchanges.
The news came on the heels of Goody's perfume beng withdrawn from at least one UK chain last week following the row, reported the BBC. Goody was evicted last week from the Big Brother house after her on-screen rows with Shetty.
Goody visited the factory in western Gujarat state when her perfume, Shh, was launched last year, officials said.
The whole ugly mess even drew political figures into the fray, and had respected media sources arguing if it was classism versus racism.
Stephen Noronha, vice-president of Pragati Glass where the perfume bottles are made, told the Times of India: "The bottles were in production this morning but our client in UK asked us to stop production."
"She even said 'India is a beautiful country'. Maybe they all say it."
The BBC reports that the factory workers who met Goody on her tour of the plant were wounded by the mean comments.
The BBC's Sanjoy Majumder in Delhi says the factory may want to distance itself from her because of fears that her comments might invite a backlash.
If only Goody would have heeded the advice on her bottles of eau de toilette.

Sorry, i hadn't probably made my self clear. What i was trying to say was 'EVEN (IF)they were to kill all the British Indians. That wouldn't stop them from stopping work in factories.
Racism is the cancer of any society. It has to be excised. Unlike United States which is aware of this truth and is addressing the issue, Britain is still in denial about the racism in its society.

Its great the US is addressing their endemic racism - they really need to (KKK anyone? Beurocrats standing by while cities of poor black americans are washed away by hurricanes? Hey - i know, let's consider building a giant wall to keep the Mexicans out!).
The UK need to too, but I don't think they have quite as much work to do as the US - the UK should concentrate on its class divide, the depth of which Jade Goody has illustrated so publicly with her revolting, bigoted behaviour.

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. There are vast differences between institutional and individual racism. The government did not put people in New Orleans to die in Katrina. Nor were they abandoned willfully. The proportions of minority to non-minority victims of Katrina were almost equal in New Orleans. Unlike socialist Europe, Americans believe that they need to take care of themselves, instead of using the government as their babysitter.
Grow up guys! The race issue will never die.The color of a man's skin has tainted mankind's thinking for eons on end! Where are you guys? All of us 'Firangi's' outside India are second class citizens who bottle up their feelings,emotions,egos and self-respect etc. and carry on because of the $$$ and Euro's invoved!! Too bad this was Shilpa Shetty for all the noise that's being made. Has anyone ever given thought to the hundreds of other incidents that take place everyday?? Bad luck guys, after all we are working class Desis!!

You all need to go back to school-caucasians can have dark skin, this was more a class and education schism than racism-Jade is uneducated and froma lower economic rung than the Bolly princess Shetty-their class differences and individual modus operandi became very clear when living side by side....

Do you know why United States is the Superpower of the world and not Britain? It is because in United States, we FACED the cancer of racism during the Civil Rights Movement. Today, in United States, our Secretary of State is an African American; Senator Obama has a chance of being the next President. In Unites States, we just celebrated an holiday called Martin Luther King's day, but what has Britain done to address the racism issue. Show me some examples.
This is why Britain is the Sick Man of the world - as everyone in the globalized world now knows.

Heh heh heh, surely he jests. In the USA more than 1 million black men are in prisons. Police harassment based on race happens all the time. Derision of blacks and hispanics by the general population goes on every day. Racism is a problem everywhere in the world.

has this devolved into a USA-UK pissing match? The US drug laws are why so mnay minorities are locked up-poor people cannnot hire lawyers to get themselves out of drug related jams. Goody seemed like a pugnacious and contentious type who would have warred with anyone she deemed 'better' than her..

American bureaucrats certainly DID stand by as thousands of people dehydrated upon their rooftops, drowned in attics, after Hurricane Katrina. I was one hundred miles away at the time (not far away).
Instead of dropping supplies from helicopters, the US Gov't sent in squads of armed teenagers driving Humvees in a policy of 'Zero Tolerance' for looting. Protecting plasma televisions from looters takes priority over search and rescue in America. Material is more important than human life.
Our president admits to being confused by the term: 'Human Dignity', as it is written in the Geneva Convention.
It's fun to talk about television. But make no mistake, the US is completely off the rails.
What? White and Black Americans suffered and died equally in Hurricane Katrina? This is a very racist argument. African Americans were overwealmingly the victims of Hurricane Katrina. White overwealmingly had transportation outside of New Orleans. Any examination of footage of New Orleans will prove that it was African Americans stuck in New Orleans during the hurricane. Numerous reports tell of police lining the highways leading out of New Orleans turning back black residents from walking their way out of New Orleans-- the white suburbs wouldn't let black residents out even to save their lives. Even now, the white areas of New Orleans are being fixed up and the levies fixed, but the black ones are not. Recently a white police officer in New York City unloaded his gun into an unarmed black man on his wedding day -- and then reloaded and emptied his gun again! (justiceforsean.net). Racism is as American as apple pie.

Sad to say that everybody is enamored with fair skin--even Indians.We all like black colored automobiles,watches,mobile phones even dogs but not humans.Once the skin is removed we all have the same color ie red.And we should stop bashing Jade goody --give her a break(only humans commit mistakes).She apologised what more she can do for slip of her tongue.let her live in peace.

White people can kill all the British Indians in UK as they want, the Indians in India will NEVER stop working on any UK contracted out firms. They're so hungry for work, people are so poor in most places, they'll work for pennys 24/7. The only reason Jades bottle factory has stoped is because they were ordered by UK firms to do so (they pay theri wages).
