I have to say as a black woman I am embarrased that he would pull out the race card on this one. When I heard the Golden Globe nominations I was enraged at how Beyonce's lackluster perfomrance could be nominated and nominated for BEST ACTRESS no less.
Face it Matthew, the reason Beyonce didn't get any genuine buzz is because she didn't deserve it. And as far as racism goes thats total bull ____ because Forest Whittaker won, J-Hud, and Eddie. Not to mention Halle Denzel and Jamie in recent years.
Beyonce has had her time, roll over at let someone else bask in the spotlight.
Why would anybody be upset that Beyonce didnt win or get nominated for best actress? didnt everyone see the movie. It was not about her character it was about Jeniffer Hudson's. Beyonce had alot of singing lines, not alot of acting lines, her character should have been a supporting role. But a bigger name gets you the headline I guess, which is good because it did get people out to watch it. However family continues to push her to the forefront. Nothing is wrong with that generally, but when its at the expence of someone esles genuine ability, who is trying to make it too then that is just not right. The Knowles family is like that snobby black family who just got into the country club and doesnt want anyone else from back where they come from to join. Crab mentality. And also didnt the movie kind of seem like the Destiny Childs story. The seemingly 'prettier' one in the group gets pushed to the front and she acts like she doesnt know whats going on. Look where Kelly and Michelle are now. I went on their myspace pages a couple weeks ago and who's face is plastered all over their screen miss Beyonce, now tell me that isnt a ploy to keep you thinking about her and not them. It must be contractal cause I sure as hell would not even be friends with her. And while I strongly stand by all of my previous statements I actually do beleive that Beyonce is talented, possibly because the other acts out even Mariah has sunk to mediocracy, but she is good. An all around entertainer. But it shouldnt be at the expence of theres girl, we all need a little time to shine.
God forbid, Beyonce don't get all the attention. SHE WASN'T ACTING....the moveie is a mirrored version of her life. Getting a Golden Globe Nomination was a stretch as it is. Everybody in the cast of Dreamgirls is black...so being black doesn't have anything to do with her not getting all the attention. I think she is an excellent entertainer, but she needs to stay in her field and leave acting to actors.
Poppa Knowles needs to sit his gray butt down....Beyonce is still out in the forefront doing her thing....she is not the world's best everything. Who does he think she is? Is she performing for herself or for your satisfaction/career? Why don't you push as hard for Kelly or Michelle, who you claim to be family? Get over it pops, Beyonce is good at what she does, she did not get nominated because she didn't deserve to get the nomination, Jennifer's turn is now, the girl can blow, you could actually SEE her SOUL when she sings, Beyonce tried with 'Listen' but couldn't find the depth, power or experience in her voice to match Jennifer. As I said it's Jennifer's turn to shine, this might be her one and only shot, but the girl deserves it. Beyonce will continue to do her thing, and much love to her....back off and get real Pops, you ain't the star.... Beyonce is graceful and a lady who can handle her own business!!!!!
ok ok. i think that we all need to realize that Matthew is going to always do what he thinks is best for his daughter. if he feels she was treated unfairly then that's his right. Don't beat up on him because you would do the same for your child. i think that Beyonce is very talented and she did a wonderful job in 'Dreamgirls'. Jennifer Hudson definately earned her star treatment because she was phenomenal!!!!! Her entire performance was breath taking! I don't think it's fair to compare her and Beyonce's singing because they have two very different styles. Beyonce is a performer and a natural born star...she dances and sings the heck out of her songs and she's very sensual. Beyonce's B-Day album is an excellent work of art. you have to really be musically inclined to understand the complicated things that this girl is doing with her voice these days. And did you catch her performance on Oprah???? Excellent!!!! Jennifer Hudson has a very strong and well maintained voice...she's a balladier. When Jennifer starts recording her album, i pray that she uses the same producers as Whitney Huston (who neither of these talented young ladies can touch)because when she sang in Dreamgirls she made me feel the hurt and heartache of love lost...(i cried). All Jennifer really has to do is open her mouth, and then you can see that she is a star, and she's doing much better now then she did on american idol. but lay off the dad, can we let this one slide????
Quite frankly he sounds bitter. I'm black but yet I do not see any signs of discrimination with regards to the nominations or awards. Jeniffer Hudson...unlike Beyonce Knowles has been on every show and is getting much acclaim for her role in Dream Girls because she did a phenomenal job. It's a shame that he cannot look beyond his own selfish desires and realize that black people are being recognized in this movie. Unfortunately his daughter was not one of them....quite frankly her 'acting' performance wasn't that great! She is a beautiful woman and a beautiful singer...and nobody's denying that! People, myself included love Beyonce...she's fierce however, Jennifer deserves all the acclaim she's getting. It's seems so childish that he would not rise above his own obvious predjudices and just be happy that black people are being recognized and admired in Hollywoood. You know my momma used to tell me, 'everything ain't for everybody.' Beyonce is an icon in the music industry...I appreciate her desire to broaden her professional career, but if you are really good at one thing...and that one thing seperates you from the rest...then stick with that! Stick with the singing baby......! Don't ever be bitter...God has bless the Knowles family immensly...they should never be upset with anything!

i don't like beyonce she thinks shes all that i know her dad is stupid somebody should ask him is jennifer and eddie black see what he say he need his butt kicked for that one she cant act for nothing its other singers out there hell! i'm one and i can really sing she yells too much 4 one if i had a chance to get signed i would show her i could take an award from her also give somebody else the tourch and you only have it because taking off ya clothes helps the sales b-day was phony as hell i hope jennifer come out this year and blow beyonces mind your dad is a dumb fu.... you know the rest

If being half naked and exposing yourself on stage is talented, then yeah she got.
