Rosie O'Donnell has a new ax to grind, and it does not involve a comb-over gazillionaire who likes to go on CNN's Larry King every other week.  O'Donnell's spew was aimed at the "American Idol" show handling of an unusual contestant last night.

"The View" aired a clip from last night's "Idol" in which Simon, Paula, and Randy mocked a particularly bug eyed participant, TMZ reported that Rosie took offense, calling it "so sad" and chastised the "millionaire" judges for laughing at contestants.

TMZ also reported that Rosie speculated that one certain judge was "probably intoxicated."

O'Donnell is fresh of the Trump-a-thon where she and Donald did a putrid pas de deux in sarcastic and insulting exchanges that initiated over a beauty queen's boohoo "so sorry" press conference, and admitted on "The View" to a guest she had been dealing with "menopause and billionaires," reported TMZ.

I used to love American Idol, but I agree that the judges really overstep their bounds when they make fun of a person's looks. If someone wants to get up and make a fool of themselves, and you know a lot of them are doing it just for a lark, and a chance to get on tv, that's another thing, but don't make fun of anyone for the way they dress and look. I felt so sorry for the young guy who they said looked like a monkey. He seemed to be very serious about performing and also seemed really hurt.......that was almost painful to watch - not entertaining. I hope the judges get back to what they need to be doing and belittling the serious contestants is not it.......please!!

I agree completely. Whether or not these people know Simons (bad) reputation does not leave open the argument that these people should be expecting ridicule, especially based on physical appearance. The questionable mental state of some of the more delusional contestants must be taken into account as well. Also, there were hundreds of contestestants auditioning in Seattle and the producers CHOSE to show the people who appeared on the show on their own accord. They could have just as easily taken the high road and not further embarrass these people. The things that were said by the pompous judges about the contestants (lack of) talent and lack of what our sick society would consider “good looks” is bad enough, but for the producers to then air this attack on national T.V, knowing that this would cause further hurt and ridicule to the contestant, well that is clearly a lack of compassion and sympathy for the feelings of person. Anyone who condones this and continues to put advertising dollars in the pockets of these people, are no better than the schoolyard bullies that attack their victim with words and embarrassment and then magnify that to further their own ego and sense of power, that the judges on this sorry excuse for entertainment portray. Good night and Good luck.

(To anyone that attacks Rosie, look at it this way: she has a platform that allows her to speak to millions of people and the ability to get them talking about simple societal issues like these. If you think she is wrong for use that said platform to voice her own opinion would undermine the very reason that television exists. It is not soley for entertainment, especially sick shows such as American Idol, it is for the spread of information and ideas. Take back the airwaves from these shameless, self promoting millionaires before it's too late. Give it up for Rosie for not squandering her ability to speak to millions.)

Rosie obviously is making controversy her way to stay in the public eye. I guess it's working.
