Lindsay Lohan checks into rehab

Lindsay Lohan has checked herself into rehab.
The 'Mean Girls' star entered the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon on Wednesday (17.01.07) following an all-night drinking binge at the Golden Globes on Monday (15.01.07).
The 20-year-old continued drinking after the awards at Prince's after-party at the Beverly Wilshire hotel until 6am on Tuesday when she was found passed out in a hotel corridor.
Lohan said in a statement: "I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health.
"I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time."
The Wonderland Center is described on its website as a "residential treatment and detoxification facility providing services for alcohol, substance abuse and relapse-prevention programmes.
"We provide first class food service and accommodations, secure and gated on a private estate, the Center has two swimming pools and three acres of sitting and walking areas."
Lohan's representative Leslie Sloane Zelnik confirmed last December that she was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
But while celebrating the New Year in Miami the 'Just My Luck' actress was seen drinking vodka from a water bottle.

I personally believe she was just trying to relax and enjoy herself at the awards show. I'm sure it's very stressful being a superstar, and I can understand why she would want to escape from it all - if only temporarily. None of us can put ourselves in her shoes. Remember, she's highly in demand and, I'm sure, has people pushing & pulling her in all directions every waking day. Whether her behaviour is a youthful indescretion or not is really none of our business. She needs to discover who she is, and that road may lead to many strange and embarassing places. Even a late night corridor where she can sleep off her anxiety. Don't let them make you feel bad about yourself, Lindsay! Enjoy yourself!
My heart bleeds for Lindsay Lohan and her drinking problem. She is so cute and charming with that twinkle in her eyes. My granddaughter is a dead ringer for her. Unfortunately, she has done some damage already. Alcoholism leaves a record on the face. It ages, changes and deteriorates the structure from within the body. Fine lines and stress marks appear out of nowhere and make-up won't hide them. Lindsay cannot undo this natural aging which becomes more pronounced with passing years, even if she goes for plastic surgery. That magic she has, that gift from God will just disappear and she will be another has-been child star. I am urging her and praying that she is able to escape from that dangerous road that she has taken.
It is never too late.
I feel sorry for the child. Yes, CHILD! Who truly cares for this girl? Technically and legally she is an adult, but these kid celebrities don't seem to mature normally at all. They are not held accountable for anything they do and I'd have to venture a guess here and say it isn't financially in her parents' & 'handlers' (managers, etc.)best interest to make her. If she were not a celebrity, she'd be arrested (like say, if she were MY KID!) AND all the people furnishing her alcohol would be arrested for contributing to the delinquincy of a minor (she still is one, ya know?).
What I'd really like to see happen here is that she really does start working her 12 step program and wake up and see the people around her for what they truly are: a bunch of blood-sucking pirannha's! Yeah, that would include Mommy Dearest hun....otherwise she would have been helping you out of this mess ages ago. In fact, she never would have allowed it to get to this point. If you think I'm wrong, tell me, how exactly does she make her living????
What is really sick is all these parents and hangers-on that live vicariously through these child celebrities.
And our society seems to feed off it as well.
It's pathetic and disgusting; and I'd rather see a child of mine do hard labor than go into 'show business'! At least they'd be doing honest work and feel good about themselves.
I wish you well, Lindsay Lohan. I hope you have hit your bottom now while you are still young. It only gets tougher the older you get, that is if you are lucky enough to survive.
Moe, what reality do you live in? You honestly think her parents are with her all the time? The reality is that she has enough wealth to do pretty much anything she wants. Hollywood parties aren't chaperoned, and they aren't policed. How do you think Nicole Richie got so messed up on heroin? She wasn't doing it right in front of Lionel. Also, you can't be arrested unless a police officer witnesses you commiting a crime, or there are enough credible witnesses who will testify against you to have charges brought up. No one in hollywood is going to do that.
It's painfully obvious that Lindsay Lohan is out of control, and spiralling ever downward. What a waste. And what is wrong with her delusional, in-denial, enabling mother? She was quoted as saying that Lindsay is fine, perfectly fine. Is this perfectly fine behavior for a 20 year old girl? Is it normal to be found passed out after some all night party in a hotel lobby? Is it OK for a 20 year old (or anyone else, for that matter) to be drinking vodka from a water bottle??? It's self destruction, and her mother seemingly doesn't see that this isn't a trip to the spa - it's REHAB (which in Hollyweird may be synonymous with spa, with the way some celebrities check in and out on a regular basis). This has been going on quite publically for years, and yet she defends her as if it's perfectly normal. The girl needs help and apparently, so does her mother.
The solution to her probolem is real simple:
DON'T HIRE HER ANYMORE! Clearly, she CAN'T deal with fame. Little spoiled brats think that they have a right to do anything to anyone and themselves just because the are famous and have money. There are so many young stars that behave normally and lead happy, fulfilling lives. Why can't she? Because she's obviously psychologically impaired.
Throw her into oblivion; no more music, no more films, no more media attention. You'll do her a favor.

Such a joke. All hollywood movie stars/singers etc are the same. its either drinkinbg, partying, sex., drugs... they think there the top of the world and they can do anything they want. I dont feel sorry for her. To me i think its almost a pathic attempt at 'oooh i have a problem but seee im getting help'. I bet you 50 bucks she'll just go out there and do it again.
why is it that we always see the same old thing , these young female actors are supposed to be a role model to our youth if all they are doing is going out and drinking and doing drugs and junk no wonder we have so many problems with our youth today.
also i find it a joke all the marriages and break ups that happen in hollywood too. its as if everyone there takes marriage as a joke. I dont feel sorry her. She has everything going for her...everything she could possibly want and instead of doing the right thing she rather do something incredibly stupid. as it was stated before she was in a AA meeting group too but she went out and got drunk anyways.
and i agree why dont they arrest her for underage drinking anyways? nooo because shes such a big movie star.

I think Linsday is pretty talented, but hell man, at 20 years old those things happen. The problem of rehab is you are there because you've been surrounded by alcohol and drugs to the point it has become toxic, and you need to learn how to avoid dependancy on your own. If Lindsays friends are all drinking rehab won't make a difference.
I'll bet you anything that Britney was never a recovering alcoholic but Paris dealt with it 5 years ago.
It's pretty tough alright.
BTW this press doesn't kill any career, but the disease can kill the person quite easily.
Just another 'trainwreck' ~ someone who values her 'good times' above all else!! Her age has nothing to do with it - I know a lot of responsible young people who have not had the advantages she has and are remarkable!!!
I don't feel sorry for these so-called entertainers either. They weren't born yesterday and have had access to all the information about drugs, drinking, etc., that the rest of society has had. They want their cake and eat it too so to speak, They wanted to be in the public eye, and all that that involves has been out there for years for all to read and know what is connected with it. They don't want to give up their money and notariety for anything!!

She isn't even 21 yet! What bartender is giving her these drinks? Why was it OK for all these years to watch this underage girl drink? Arrest her!
And do the same for her parents who knowingly looked the other way. Statics show that the younger you are when you start drinking the greater the chance of becoming an addict. It can take only 6 months to become a full alchoholic when you are a teenager. As a society we must not think this is OK.
