She spends $100K in a day when it takes others years to get the much money. Wow. I guess I should start training my nephews to play sports, haha.
Whatever
i dont get this
now u hear all dem ppl complainin bout dem third world countries and how poor they are - the ppl der live for less than a dollar a day...
it's just ridiculous how ppl who aren't dat good anyway can make so much money
why do i suddenly feel sick at my stomach thinking about this? i agree that there are so many people in the world and in our own country that need our help and this is how people spend their money? that soccer club or whatever it is could have put that money to better use than this.
i hope he doesn't break a limb or something for the families spending habits. but then again with that much money they could probably afford some stem cell treatment so he can keep on playing...
If you got it, you may as well flaunt it.
The Beckham's have already contributed over $10 million of their own money to various charities, and have helped raise much much more, by appearing at events for various other causes.
Who cares if they wanna spoil their kids a little, or themselves for that matter? They are charitable, much more so than most celebrities.
People need to stop hating.
these people are flat out vile and oddly enough, TOO attention starved, tacky, obvious and weird for Los Angeles. We as a city have moved on from conspicuously consumptive Scientology do-nothings throwing themselves at tabloids and pretending to be hunted. GO AWAY GO AWAY dork sorceress and metrosexual zombietwit we DON'T want you
Disgusting. I could manage on, oh a £1m, for life. If they kept say just £25m couldn't they manage to get by and give the rest away?
No. Of course they couldn't.
Silly me.
Good for them. They earned it, they get to spend it. That's capitalism. All you whiners should shut up and work.
Beckham is where he is (off the field that is) because of his wife. She's been marketing him for years. I love watching him play but never underestimate the intelligence or skills of Victoria. She's not sucking on the hind tit of anyone - that's why they get along so so well.
Can't understand what all the griping is about: Plenty of people drop $100 grand in L.A. in a day, and not all that many of them are using that money on home improvements. From the squabble, it's as if she spent it on shoes. Get a grip, folks.
I just love how people can sit in their homes at the trailer park and judge someone else, just because that person seems to be doing better than them. It always amazes me when these same people seem to think they have the right to tell others how they should spend their money. Reports are that Dave and Posh have donated over $10 million to charity. How much have these losers commenting on their spending habits donated to charity in the last year? As a percentage of income?
Sounds like there is a lot of jealousy out there. It really is pathetic of you all. Whine a bit more about how someone makes more money than you or was born into a wealthier family.
Face it: Life ain't fair and then you die.
Bravo Dave!
Hit the nail on the head.
You all complain about the tragic 'third world' (which is a term, in and of itself, designed to make you feel better about being poor in America) when, in reality, I seriously doubt any of you have made sizeable donations to organizations that help the undeveloped and developing nations of the world.
$2000? Does that make you a philanthropist now?
don't forget she made well over 22 million with the spice girls, and comes from a extremely wealthy family. just sayin' the girl can make the money and spend it too!
they spent 100K. where do you think that money went? it went to pay the retailers, the clerks working there, the manufacturers who made the stuff, their workers, the raw material suppliers and their workers. The money was spent in return for useful services and provided income for numerous suppliers and their employees. where's the problem??
Sometime around the end of his contract, a divorce. They came for the wrong reasons and will adopt the behaviors of their new friends. The stats on the Hollywood stars (what they really want to be) will be validated once again.
Not only do words fail me that someone would spend 100G in an afternoon for decorating, but also for the positive comments about it registered on this site.
Greed truly prevails.
so let me get this right. It is a virture to give money to somebody for doing nothing in return (charity); but it is a sin to give money to somebody for providing a service or product? interesting...so the saints are the beggars, and us workers are the sinners (because we accept pay in return for our work); yet we are the ones who generate the money to make charity possible.
'They earned it, they get to spend it. That's capitalism. All you whiners should shut up and work.'
To say they 'earned it' is circular - it is not a statement of merit but one of fact, as in, the money was paid to them. To say they get to spend what is paid to them is a truism.
That this has anything to do with capitalism, however, is a total non-sequitor. Indeed one might make a strong argument that it is all very anti-capitalistic, insofar as most of the wealth is generated by intellectual property rights, which, as legal monopolies, go against the foundation of capitalism, which is based on free competition in free markets. Government-sanctioned monopolies clearly are not free markets - and yes I know the arguments for why anti-capitalistic legal monopolies are the best thing for capitalism, sort of like making war is the best way to keep the peace, and giving up our civil liberties is necessary to preserve them, yada, yada, Orwell, yada. And yes, I realize one might argue that the US Constitution grants Congress the right to grant copyrights over film (but, in fact, it specifically says that Congress may 'secur[e] for limited Times to Authors ... the exclusive Right to their ... Writings' and says nothing about film and music), but it says nothing about trademarks. On the other hand the US Constitution says nothing about capitalism either.
As to your last point, I actually work very hard - much harder than Beckham and wife, I am sure - and no matter how hard I work I will never make the $330 per minute Beckham makes from his right to exploit the legal monopolies society has granted him.
