By Stone Martindale Jan 9, 2007, 16:31 GMT
Oscar winner Hilary Swank has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The presentation was made in front of world famous Grauman's Chinese Theater.
Hilary made her movie debut in 1992's Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and later received Best Actress Academy Awards for her roles in "Boys Don't Cry" and "Million Dollar Baby."
In the movie "Freedom Writers" she plays real-life English teacher Erin Gruwell who sought to inspire a dodgy group of slackers at Wilson High School in Long Beach.
Swank was also one of the film's executive producers.
Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Swank moved to Southern California as a teen with her mother to pursue acting, and even lived out of her car at one point.
