Good Lord or as Steve would say 'crikey.' Take a breather please. Can't this child have a childhood?
I'm certain they're not short of cash and if they are that's even more reason to keep the child down on the farm. She obviously is a sweet unaffected child. After this media tour I doubt she'll be that way. It will take time for Bindi to process all that has happened to her in the last couple of months and I doubt that a tour of the chats is the road to redemption. Could someone please get Dr. Phil on speaker?

I am not a fan of this decision. Unless plans for this were underway long before Steve Irwin's tragic death, putting poor Bindi in front of the cameras can't be, as decisions go, the brightest fork in the silverware drawer. She and the family need time out to regroup and recover from the loss. I understand and sympathize with the need to go right out after this pain and 'grab life by the' to get back on top of things -- surely an Australian trait -- but for gosh sakes, people: let the little girl be a little girl. Allowing Bindi to grow up out of the cruel, exploitative glare of the spotlight is the kindest thing a family can do for a little girl who no longer has a father to comfort her. Perhaps we should protest this sad decision.

Capitalism at it's finest. Milking every penny they can out of a tragedy and using a child as some type of a cash-cow. Shame on you Terri Irwin. You're not a mother, you're a pimp.

oh please. she's doing what she's always done. she grew up in the middle of action and adventure and it's what makes her happy. as an Australian I'm proud of her and her mothers decision to let her do what she wants in order to move on. this is HER childhood, the way she wants to live it. Factoring money into it? please. these people want to do good. They spend their money on buying huge parcels of land and making sure they're protected and made into parks and wildlife sanctuaries. I say BRAVO!!! have your extraordinary childhood Bindi, and do whatever makes YOU happy. We can tell by the smile on you face that this does.

Much love. z

she was making this series with her father before he died. this is HER baby, that she asked to do and be involved in. why are you all so bitter??? not everything is awful you know. Be happy for her, look how much she's smiling despite such sorrow. we should all be so blessed.

Yeah, why should she get to be on TV? Nobody wanted me to be a Child Star.

Some kids get all the luck.

Go Bindi! Go!

Bindi has been groomed for this way of life long before the tragic death of Steve Irwin, she has had a private tutor and travel around the world something the average child would never see or do. Her education has been speculator as you can by the way she can conduct herself. I take my hat off to her parents to the wonderful way they have brought their daughter up you can see the parental input in Bindi Irwin.

People should be free to choose what they want to do, and I have no inside knowledge on Bindi's life so it's not for me to judge anyway, but I will say that I'm not going to feel the smallest amount of pity if she gets her head bitten off by a crocodile. People who play with fire, and all....

This doesnt have to do with money. Bindi fought for her ability to 'make her father proud.' Stop being judgemental about how she chooses to remember her father.

My hat is off to you Bindi and Terri. I think that this is the natural progression for Bindi. I was even wondering if she or her mother would continue on in Steve's stead on the Animal Planet series 'New Breed Vets'. I think that would be a good idea as well. But this show Starring Bindi and her Father is going to be a wonderful experience.
As many have said This is Bindi's childhood. Not all too different from Steve's except with more media exposure. But I am sure that her mother and grandfather and Steve's buddies won't let her be taken advantage of.
I believe Bindi is in good hands as will lil Robert. Afterall their dad is watching from one of the highest posts available.
My love to the Irwin family.
Blessings, Dianne

Bindi is in the USA primarily for the Australian Tourism Commission, but none of the US media outlets are saying this!!! She is in the US briefly and all of this was planned BEFORE Steve died. The shows, the series...everything. People saying disgusting things about any of this, should put a sock in it! You should take the time to read a little bit about the Terri/Steve story and realise that they are absolutely NOT about money and all about wildlife.

well done Terri and BindiJan 14th, 2007 - 05:39:16

I am sure Steve and his whole family would have done similar interviews at this time to promote the 'World's Deadlies'. Terri and Bindi are doing a marvelous job and show great strength and determination to be able to go it alone without the biggest strength and love in their life, Steve. They clearly love him dearly and want to put their life into the Wildlife passions that he had, Bindi born into it, Terri fell in love with his enthusiasm and love of animals and wildlife from the very first moment she saw him. Absolutely sure they do none of it for any monetary gain, but for the love of animals and the environment. Bindi seems such a sweetie and well able to speak up for what she wants to do in life. Terri has been a wonderful mother and friend to her children. Terri sincerely wants the best for her children and will be fiercely protective of them. Well done Terri and Bindi. So many
Australians are very proud of you.

All of you people who are shooting this little girls dreams down to carry on her fathers legacy should be ashamed of yourselves. Maybe this is the best way for her to deal with the grief of losing someone she was obviously so close to and as far as Teri exploiting her I think it is more love motivating her actions than greed. I'm sure that they are not in dire need of money what with the proceeds from the zoo which has probably brought in more revenues since Steves untimely death than ever before. Good for you Bindi for standing up for what you believe in and good luck for your future. As for Teri my heart goes out to you and your children and I think that you are one of the bravest people I have ever seen. You are in my opinion doing all of the right things for your family.

Oh yeah. We all know how great childhood stars turn out. Just look at Michael Jackson. He has SO much money. And Britney Spears. Lindsay Lohan. Corey Haim. Jonathon Brandis. Jodi Sweet. Gary Coleman. Macaulay Culkin. Shall I go on? Kids, for the most part, are not competent to make the sort of decisions which are going to effect the rest of their entire lives. It's a bad business out there and it really messes people up. 8 year olds need to stay in school and learn about relationships and how to get along in society. Not how to get along on the Tonight Show.

No one truly knows what the Irwin family is going through, and they are the only people capable of making their decisions. They will do the right thing. I firmly believe that an eight-year-old is fully competant and aware of what he/she is doing. And it's not like Bindi is alone. She has Terri and an entire zoo behind her, as well as her father in some way or another. I applaud all of their efforts and what the Irwin family has done for the world and wildlife.
