Rapper and Nets owner Jay-Z (L) talks with girlfriend Beyonce Knowles (R) EPA/JUSTIN LANEThe former Destiny's Child singer - who has had roles in comedy films such as 'Austin Powers: Goldmember' and 'The Pink Panther' - believes her latest performance is brilliant.Beyoncé revealed in an interview with Britain's Empire magazine: "I think people are going to be very surprised. I can't wait for them to see it because I've shocked myself. I always knew I had the gift to act, but I've never had a movie to show everything that I can do."The 25-year-old said it was particularly hard to play her character Deena - who is based on a young Diana Ross - as she had to suppress her own powerful voice for the role.She said: "I had to tone down the dancing and tone down my voice. I couldn't belt things out and sing them with as much soul, because Deena is not that way. It's been difficult to make her stand out and still be subtle."(C) BANG Media International
