Splashed all over TMZ and other video expose websites, Idol host Paula Abdul comments about her caught on video bizarre behavior during most of the entire American Idol season, including after hours soirees.
Entertainment Weekly ran her comments that she was not intoxicated, but a simple misunderstanding. “Last year, when no one understood what I was saying, and even though I’ve never been drunk in my life, I’m accused of filling my Coca-Cola cup with alcohol. Yeah, that was really fun for me,” she said.
Pop on the Pop celebrity blog alleges most of those accusations came from host Ryan Seacrest. Host Simon Cowell says Paula is “the only one who’s emotionally involved,” and he says, “What I love about Paula is she’s a genuine fan.”

Paula is amazing, and I hope people all around stop bashing celebrities. It's not fair for them, or their fans. 'Never been drunk.' It doesn't mean she hasn't had a drink before, just hasn't been like drunk out of her mind. I applaud her for that. I believe her also, it's not good to assume before you know the facts.
I always loved Paula, she is a true star, people love to start trouble for other people, Paula's just a very loving person and it shows, I never thought once that something was wrong with Paula, she's just Paula! Never once have I ever heard anything about Paula having two many drinks or being on drugs years ago when she was the number 1 pop singer, now because she's again on top some people have to start stories about her, these people should just get a life and leave Paula alone. America loves Paula, and always will.
Paula is a really great person and she's been through a lot in her lifetime. And it saddens me that some people have no respect and are just really immature and decide to start picking on her. Get a life. I can't recall anything that Paula has done to hurt someone or disrespect someone, but for some reason people want to pick on her. I'm glad that Paula has stood up for herself, yet again and defended her actions. I can't imagine the pain she's been through, with some of the things people have called her. I don't think they will ever understand her pain. But I know Paula's gonna come out of this stronger and better, especially with the new season of American Idol coming up. Way to go Paula, don't ever let them get to you. Know your true fans are always with you and will always stand by your side.
Paula Abdul is awesome!
I went to an event last night where Paula Abdul was honored and her speech sounded like she had more than Coca cola!!!
Well if you watched her on my local news on Thursday morning you would not believe her lies. She was completely wasted. She could not sit still. Making weird smiling faces. Looking off camera. She was barely coherent. Either she was drunk or very high. This was on KTVU Channel 2 news in San Francisco, CA.
The woman is completely sloshed in a *morning* interview. Does she have no real friends? She needs a bloody intervention!
Two words Paula - Re-Hab.
Some day she will be completely mortified at her behaviour onscreen. It seems she is so constantly wasted that she'll never see how she truly looks. Once she sobers up, she's going to have so much shame to face.
You betcha it does!
Why stick up for Paula when you haven't even seen the video!
I've seen two appearances and she was visibly 'altered'.
See for yourself:

(This is only one- there are more)
Stop all the 'poor Paula' whimpers until you've seen the evidence!!
Paula is a sweet, talented, and beautiful woman, but she has a problem that denial alone will not make go away.
There is no shame is having a substance abuse issue, as long as you do something about it.
I am sure there are many people who want to help Paula, but she first needs to admit that she has a problem, and then decide to do something about it.
I am in recovery myself, for many years, and know it is hard to get sober, but easy to stay sober once there. Life is good clean and sober, and leaving alcohol behind has given me a new freedom, like I never thought possible. Once my life was all about getting drunk or high, now there is so much more to life than that.
Paula can also know this freedom, but she has to want to make her life better, and then reach out to those who love her, for help.
Whats the big deal, what if she was drunk, who cares....too much is made of crap like this
What a drunk
Who gives a rat's-ass about Paula or any of those 'stars'? They have nothing in common with the rest of the population. They act like they are more deserving than the rest of the world... but why not, when there are wussies that feed off their waste and allow them to keep acting like children. If you acted like that at your job, what would your boss do?

I think it's great that Paula Abdul is standing up and letting her voice be heard. It's really sad to think that we live in a world where people have nothing better to do than rag on celebrities and make their lives a living hell. Anyone who knows anything about Ms. Abdul will know that she is none of the things that the nasty rumors to be. She's had to go through a lot in her life, and the season that her speech was slurred was due to in error in medication to help deal with her painful RSD symptoms. Now that she's actually pain-free, people cannot just be happy for her. Instead, they have to find another quirk to dish on her about. I've never quite figured out why she's the only one on American Idol that gets ragged on. There are plenty of other things that are much worse that her fellow judges on the panel, as well as the host commit. Hopefully this season will be a lot more easier on Paula, that is if the majority of the world's population can learn the true meaning of respect.
