"Femur schmemur" is what hard worling Governor Schwarzenegger says as he bolts out his hospital bed and is determined to commence work and address his busy schedule including the swearing in ceremony for a second term, which he won in a landslide. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was released after four days when he underwent surgery to repair a fractured leg suffered while skiing. In a 90-minute operation last Tuesday, doctors at St. John's Health Center used screws and cables to link the broken fragments of the bone.Schwarzenegger fractured the largest bone in his body, his femur, while skiing a challenging run with family in Sun Valley, Idaho. The Governator is expected to be on crutches while he is sworn in for second term. The expected recovery will take about eight weeks.The governor left the hospital about 5 p.m. local time Saturday and traveled to his home in Los Angeles, Schwarzenegger spokeswoman Julie Soderlund said.In a press statement released by his office Saturday night, Schwarzenegger said the injury had not dampened his optimism for the coming year.Schwarzenegger's two-day inauguration festivities will include a kickoff party, legislative luncheon, swearing-in ceremony and black-tie gala, all beginning this coming Thursday.He is scheduled to deliver his State of the State address on Jan. 9th, and present his budget proposal January 10th.
