A theft report was made by Heather Mills McCartney, and it has given the public a window into the contentious couple's bitter divorce proceedings.

According to police, Mills McCartney reported a theft of artworks including canvases by Picasso and Renoir on Thursday evening from an abode she shared with Paul McCartney.

Officers said Friday that there had been no theft and it was "a civil matter between her and her husband." Sussex Police spokesman Paddy Rea said on Friday.

The U.K.'s Sun newspaper reported on Friday that, according to an unidentified friend of Mills McCartney, the former Beatle had removed the paintings and reprogrammed the estate's alarm. He allegedly informed Mills McCartney later, via text message.

The couple had reportedly not signed a pre-nuptial agreement.  Scurrilous details of the couple's divorce papers were also leaked to the media. In the documents, Mills McCartney claims her husband attacked her among many claims.

Mills has also announced plans to sue several British newspapers in relation to their coverage of her.  In recent media positngs she claims to have received death threats as well.

CBC.ca reports that "McCartney hired the firm that represented Prince Charles in his divorce from Diana, the Princess of Wales, while Mills McCartney retained the firm that represented Diana."

She came into the marriage with nothing and should leave that way. Why should Sir Paul have to give the little gold digger any of what he earned prior to their marriage. Did she pay for those paintings? NO. Did she help him build his music career and fortune? NO, Linda did. All he owes her is a minimal amount of money to live on and full monetary support for Beatice their daughter, and this is if and only if Ms Mills should gain joint custody. This is truly a nasty situation and I pray that Sir Paul has learned two good lessons from this all...1) Always, Always Sign a Pre-Nup and 2) Never marry a Gold Digger. The signs were there Sir Paul you were just blinded by Youth and Frivilous Love.

This whole thing is sad, but why do these middle aged and older men think a marriage with a much younger woman will be the 'answer' to all!!! And to start another family to boot - everyone loses.............

It is apalling that Sir Paul would not have been more cautious before getting married again. Whatever happens to his condsiderable fortune is entirely his responsibility. Some lessons in life cost more than others.

If she married for love - then why the money grab - most likely she had figured that into her ploy - so many years at x amount of money and then I get to live like a queen - Paul being an exceptional musician and visionary should have listened to his business advisors - that's why they are there. good luck Paul

Dear Paul,

This is something my dad told me. It's served me VERY well...

God, can we speed up the time and forget the devastating shake that the Beatles' inventors imposed on us??!!! Family destruction, totally abnormal behavior of women (and men!), the 'we don't discriminate against' syndrome, etc. All because of excrement-smeared fetuses like John Lennon and Paul McCartney!

Well the man had lost his wife fairly recently, folks do not so smart things when they're blindsided by grief. Was obvioulsy trying to sort his way out of a busload of pain. Along comes this professional victim/hooker (missing a leg! Ergo she must be a saint!). You can't fault a man for giving it the old college try (even though everyone at the time told him she was a nutter)
He didn't need and does not need a pre-nup as the English legal system is all set up to protect the wealthy. Will she get 20-50 million bucks? Yeah, but so what? Paul is worth between 800 million and 1.5 Billion dollars. He's gonna end up paying far less than if they had lived and married in America. Heck, over there it may even be a write off!
Better luck next time Paul!

Even our sport heroes (OJ), and our political leaders (Nixon, Clinton, Barry), and
our famous TV/movie/recording stars (Blake, Belushi, Joplin, Monroe, Hendrix, Presley,
Richards, Gibson) are unfortunately human. They are the same killers, abusers,
drug users, alcoholics that we all are. We like to think they are not capable of such
things... but they are. They hate. They attack. They plot. They lie. They steal.
They change. We want to see them as the perfect beings they appear to us in public.
... and when the can't be... we're surprised

Why doesn't Heather go out and get a job? There is no reason why she can't support herself. Sir Paul is still working. He is writing music, arranging shows, and scheduling tours. I'm certain Heather has a nanny for baby Bea. She needs to go to work!

Also, why all this talk about her giving 10 million to charity, when she apparently is so poor that she is intending to sell the barn house. Sir Paul paid cash for that house, and for the remodel. She has no payments on it. This entire thing is just manipulation on Heather's part. She certainly is not making any fans with her petty manipulations.

mills was a gold digger. Paul was in grief.
mills saw an oppertunity. Paul was not in a good frame of mind
mills like a viper struck. Paul was bitten poisoned by attention of her.
mills became with child. Paul was taken by the child.
(if it hasn'r been done DNA testinf needs to be)
Six years they shared an abode.
In what emotional conditions we will never really know.
Now a Child has to suffer the seperation of family.
The Child needs the care. The Financial Coverage.
mills does not she is capable of getting a job and working.
Paul needs to Heal Fully
before he undertakes any intimate relationship again.
The Child will need the caring the Parents must give.

With the Media at play. the attorneies having their day.
if any. it will be the child who will pay.
(Paul if you want use them as lyrics)

Mills was wrong in planning this take over of the McCartney estate,
even worse to involve a child's life in it.

mills needs to bow out now. Quietly. And leave Paul and family alone.

She 'never heard of The Beatles?' If she is guilty of nothing else, she is guilty of either lying, or being completely daft.
