Mike Tyson arrested for suspicion of DUI, almost hit cop car

Larry Hall said the retired heavyweight boxer was stopped after his car nearly hit a sheriff's vehicle while leaving the club at about 1:45 a.m."He showed signs of impairment, and voluntarily submitted to field sobriety tests," said Hall, a member of the Buckeye Police Department who was working in the area as part of a holiday DUI task force.Tyson was brought in after "showing more signs of impairment" during the field sobriety tests.Police also discovered a cache of cocaine in his car. No one else was with Tyson at the time, Hall said.Tyson was born Michael Gerard Tyson in Brooklyn, New York, on June 30, 1966. He is a former World Heavyweight Champion. Tyson was the youngest man to win a heavyweight title belt, and was rated in 1999 by Ring magazine as the fourteenth greatest heavyweight of all time. He was nicknamed "Iron" Mike Tyson and The Baddest Man on the Planet. During his heyday in boxing, Tyson was considered unbeatable, but his career was undermined by domestic abuse issues, and incarceration. After being released from his first prison sentence, Mike made an anticipated comeback, but lacked the focus to reclaim his previous dominance. The second half of his career was overshadowed by strange occurences and controversy.Tyson was booked at a Maricopa County sheriff's jail. Reported CNN.
