Rapper and clothier Sean 'Diddy' Combs has issued an apology in a press release to animal rights activists over the use of real dog fur in his Sean John jackets - and says he wasn't aware it was genuine animal skin.
The Humane Society Of The United States (HSUS) earlier this month came down hard on Diddy after it was discovered the lining of a 'faux fur' Sean John jacket hood was made from the racoon dog fur.
Combs has vowed never to use real fur again, insisting retailer Macy's remove the offending jacket from their sales floor.
He says, "I was unaware of the nature of this material, but as soon as we were alerted, the garments were pulled off the Macy's floor and website.
"I have instructed our licensee to cease the production of any garment using this material immediately."
