I wonder if he broke it on the run named after himself? Since it was mentioned to be a black diamond run, I hope that he was injured on an easier slope. That may give him a real ego check.

Breaking a femur is bad news! I broke my right femur in 1986. It took me over a year to recover

You don't break your femur by simply falling down...
It is always the result of a significant impact with something solid.
I'm still waiting for the whole story... but no one is telling?
I'd bet he was skiing too fast, lost control... and hit a tree, or lift tower... or?

It takes a significant amount of force to break a femur (the largest bone in your body), so there's definitely more to the story.
