Ben Stiller's terrible with zippers
Dec 23, 2006, 8:00 GMT
Ben Stiller has confessed the famous zipper accident in 'There's Something About Mary' was based on his own experience.
The comedy actor - whose character accidentally catches his "johnson" in his fly in the film - once had a similar accident with his zip.
Ben told Britain's The Times magazine: "I have had my own zipper accident. But I would never talk about it because we all have childhood events that affect us.
"I never had anything as bad as that, but I had one close. It was my own private little problem."
The 'Night At The Museum' star used to worry the movie scene would haunt him forever.
He said: "There was that feeling that I was going to be 'zipper guy' from then on."
Ben revealed his "Blue Steel" face from 'Zoolander' was also based on himself.
Ben said: "It was the face I make would in the mirror every time I was doing my hair.
"My wife would say to me, 'Why are you doing that face? And I was like, 'I don't do that'. And she was like, 'Yes you do'."
