Thanks to Madge's loquacious father-in-law, English press is all abuzz with new allegations that Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie is under enormous strain over her plans to adopt another child.
John Ritchie, father of film producer Guy, 38, tells the UK Daily Mail that even though it is his son's sixth wedding anniversary, "his marriage is under huge pressure over the issue."
Madonna has made claims she is up for another adoption from the same Malawi orphanage, following the leads of Angelina Jolie and Mia Farrow in celebrity adoptions from foreign lands.
The Daily Mail quotes an Italian magazine Grazia, who interviewed pop John Ritchie: "They've had a difficult time, (David) is beautiful and Guy is very good with him. But I don't think he'd want to (adopt again).
"They were both under an unbelievable amount of pressure because of all the press surrounding (David's) adoption. It has caused tension and been deeply upsetting."
The Daily Mail cites unnamed "close sources" to the super couple who they say are at loggerheads with each other on when, exactly, another child can be integrated into their expanding brood.
An unnamed Daily Mail source said: "Madonna wants to get things moving. If she makes up her mind about something wild horses can't stop her. But Guy wants them to get used to what they already have. It's a big issue between them."
Previous posted stories on Monsters have recounted the public row of Madonna and Guy at Cecconi's, the restaurant where it was witnessed.
Diners overheard Ritchie lighting into Madonna for being "so controlling" while she appeared troubled as she played with her food.

It never ceases to amaze me how there is always a family member or so-called friend so anxious to 'tell all' about someone. In this day and age, no one seems to be able to keep their mouths shut!!!

as an expat aussie who has lived in london and the u.s., i feel i understand both the brit and yank mentalities to a degree. however although i somewhat admired madonna for taking the plunge and leaving her beloved u.s. of a., and admired guy ritchie even more for almost having never heard of her, it's no surprise that things are becoming frosty between them, even though 6 yrs is a lifetime these days in celeb relationships.
of course madonna is an unbelievably talented human being, and her hubby is perhaps less talented but a lot more grounded. i do find it interesting that the media (and i'm a member of it!) continues to pursue what i see only as somewhat 'old news'... hanging on the 'celebrity collection' theme of child adoptions from the third world. is angelina aiming for a child from every world continent, or perhaps even country? how long will brad give it?
unfortunately people like madonna who have too much money, too much conceit, and way too much self-righteousness to be anything BUT controlling of everything and everyone around them, so often just lose touch with what's really going on. like so many others in a similar situation to her (like arnold schw, sonny bono, that famous wrestler who became a state governor), once money has given them everything they can want, then they only want power! just watch, one day i think madonna will return to america as a finally matured woman the likes of bette davis, and run for a seat in the american congress!
