Simon Cowell has become the highest-earning star on British TV after landing a new £20 million pay deal.
The music mogul has been given the whopping three-year contract with ITV for his hit talent show 'X Factor', as well as a number of secret projects.
When added to his other incomes, including his salary for hit US reality show 'American Idol', Simon's total earnings are set to soar to £100 million over the next five years.
A source said: "He has become the man with the Midas touch. He is the most successful TV man in the world."
Simon's ITV deal beats the previous highest salary for a British TV star, chat show host Jonathan Ross, by £2 million.
ITV bosses are hoping the deal will help the channel compete with it's rivals on both terrestrial TV and satellite.
Last Saturday's (16.12.06) 'X Factor' final attracted a record 12.6 million viewers, the biggest audience in the show's history.
