I never thought he did it like many who watched every word of the trial. I was looking forward to reading the book. Will it ever be published?
I would like to suggest to OJ that he bring civil suit against the LA police department for all of their missteps and abuse of power and that he present it as a class action case so that others who have experienced the 'missteps and abuse' can also step forward and declare their case....

Last week Iran held a 'deny the holocost' gathering. Maybe next week they could do an 'O.J. didn't do it' event.
I know O.J. did it and to torment the families even further by 'supposedly speculating' on how he would have done it is sinking to a another low of his. He is a true narcisistic psychopath that will stoop to anything to keep attention on himself, even if it's so grotesque as reliving a murder he committed. For Ms. Regan shame on her. We all have to look within to decide what will we sell our souls for. She obviously felt she could justify this type of behavior. I hope it was worth it.
The only reasonable doubt in that case was that the juror's brains were in doubt...

There was a long trial why were you not there giving your information !Its true he was convicted in the press before he went to trial,but he was found not guilty! Do you not read any further than the headlines? He was found innocent in a bogged-down, media circus of a public trial on criminal charges by incompetent prosecutors. They are the ones that put 'reasonable doubt' on the table when they didn't fish out their own idiot cops mistakes. To be honest, it wasn't the jurors who were at fault. They followed the rules. They had to admit there was 'reasonable doubt'.... a fraction of it compared to the overwhelming evidence, but still.
If you want to see the actual evidence presented by equally armed and talented attorneys for both plaintiff and defendant, then look at the civil trial in which OJ WAS FOUND GUILTY!!!! YES GUILTY!! He owes millions for the wrongful death of his 2 victims but yet has not paid a penny of that... why? Because he knew he was guilty and had his lawyers hide away all his money in retirement funds that can't be touched.
He's guilty, found so in a court of law. But a civil suit, wrongful death conviction does not mean prison. So... thus walks a murderer. He just has to be sneaky in how he talks about it so he doesn't somehow incriminate himself back into a criminal trial.
America watched the trial Paul, we all set on the same jury. After the trial we all voted on OJ's guilt or innocence and the vast majority of us found him guilty. You either didn't tune in, idolized OJ or are in that small minority of people who can never make their mind up.

The fact of the matter is 'America' thinks OJ is guilty because he is black and the victims were white. If they were the same race the jury verdict would be accepted.

How hypocritical for Murdoch's Harper Collins to fire Judith Regan. What did she do? She gave the public what it has clamored for for some time now and that is 'CLOSURE' with regards to the Guilt of OJ Simpson. Her deal with OJ resulted in what amounts to a confession of his crimes so that people of all races can finally accept the simple reality. OJ is free largely because of the work of Johnnie Cochran and the Dream Team.
That she was business savvy and Machiavellian enough to profit from it only illustrates a loyalty to the bottom line, which any CEO ought to reward. How strange for the Murdoch clan to get all PC now of all times. This is a company who's media tradition is based in sensationalist press. Shame on you for trashing Judith Regan for doing something entrepreneurial and creative which for the most part fits firmly within the companies business model.

Armchair jurists, who are nothing more than the would-be members of a lynch mob piously declare that 'they know' OJ was guilty, because they watched the trial on TV! As if periodically tuning in to the TV coverage of the trial could possibly be the same as being a jury member sitting in the courtroom every single day and watching every single moment of the trial; seeing OJs reactions to the testimony, the demeanor of the police and other witnesses for the prosecution and defense. You 'OJ is Guilty' fools clearly can't tell the difference between make-believe and reality when you claim that you know better than the jury because you watched 'the entire trial' on Court TV! You act as if the jury system should be replaced by TV coverage and a voting process in which viewers decide guilt or innocence, like 'American Idol'! You are MORONS!
If there was 'overwhelming evidence' of OJs guilt, why then wasn't the State of California able to convince the jury of this? Do you really believe that juries in California or anywhere else in this country routinely acquit black men on trial for murder? If so, then you are truly stupid.

Hey, O.J. slaughtered his ex-wife because the beatings weren't enough to satisfy him. He slaughtered Ron Goldman because two males have to determine who's king of the hill.
The racist cops like Mark Furhman were so overwhelmed with the gift of finally having a guilty black man without having to frame him, they tried to frame him just to make sure he would be convicted and gave the jury that 'reasonable doubt' everyone thought they should be on the lookout for.
The Jury thought somehow centuries of racial injustice could be undone by setting a guilty black man free because he was black, and the reasonable doubt was a way to clear their conscience for setting a guilty man free.
And just like the riots after the Rodney King verdict, the public for the most part has acted with equally indefensible oblivion to the reality they have sacrificed justice for vengeance and retribution.

If there really was justice in this country, the rednecks who killed James Byrd would have found O.J. first, and the crowd who beat up Reginald Denny and the cops who beat Rodney King would have been crushed years earlier in the collapse of the 880 freeway overpass so we would never have to know they existed.

-Montresor- what were you doing during the trial? The main reason that OJ was NOT found guilty is due to the mastry of Jonny Cockrin. it was his suppression of major evidenturary finding and testimony that the Jury did not see. If you remember the trial there were many times when the jury was excused from the court and the coverage was continued. we the television viewers were privy to much 'evidence' that was not presented to the jury. OJ's past beatings of Nichole comes to mind most strongly, there were DAYS of that testimony and counter testimony that the jury did NOT get to hear. I truly wish you to take a good look at the crime scene pictures. Deny that this was a crime of passion that went too far. This was not a 'hit' as Jonny Cockrin tried to say it was. If you take a look at the evidence you see that Nichole was planing a bath candls and rose pedles throught out the house, the house was not broken into the killer was familure to both Nichole and Ron. The evidence shows that one man commited those crimes there was no room for more than 3 people in those close quaters.
I have come to the conclusion that OJ found out that his wife was out, he came over to the house. he knocked on the door until Nichole answered and they had ANOTHER fight this time OJ went too far. Ron either by invitation or because he did find the glasses tried to return them, surprised OJ and he momentarily stopped the beating of Nichole, turned his attetion to Ron and killed Ron. then turned back to the only living witness and killed her. in his rage he slit her throat from ear to ear, (I have seen the autopsy photos and she was cut deep and long) this was a crime of passion with out thought of reprisal not a hate crime or a paid contract this was a furtherance of spousal abuse. Plane and simple. the state of California messed up. the cops messed up the judge did his job and so did the defense. please tell me that you can stop your cranial rectal inversion long enough to look at ALL of the evidence.
OJ was wrong to do a book describing how he would murder the mother of his children. I totally disagree with that. My thoughts and prayers are with the kids.

Do innocent rich men with access to the best lawyers in the country run from the law and try to leave the country? I can understand a poor white or black man who has no cash that fears he is cooked and has been framed to run but an 'innocent' man with substantial means would know he is innocent and rely on his lawyers to prove it………………… Cut to the Bronco chase, O.J. lying in the floor, he has his passport a huge wad of cash and is NOT on his way to the bank to make a deposit. Let me get this straight: She cost her company millions of dollars by signing a murderer to a book and tv interview contract, and she's calling it a war now that she's lost her job? Anyone, anywhere else, would have been fired for her lack of common sense in regards to the O.J. matter. The shareholders should have demanded that she was fired. She put her ego ahead of everything else, including O.J.'s victims, and by prostituting herself, she suffered the consequences. Everything I read about her doing the O.J. book and interview ended up being about her; she should have thought of someone else for a change. I have no pity for someone who acts like her.

Let's be civil about this, that being said there are two thing about any jury verdict we must consider:
1.)O.J. was found Not Guilty.
2.)In law Not Guilty is not equivalent to innocent.

Maybe if you guys had sought Justice for Emmit Till and the thousands of others who were lynched and their murderers let free by white jurors your indignation over Simson's acquittal might have had value. AS it is, it demonstrates a level of convenient historical amnesia and hypocrisy that is staggering. OJ might have 'done the deed indeed', and gotten off because he was fortunate to have the means to hire the best lawyers to plead his case. But many of you expressing your indignation over that verdict are representations of the very ones who were letting go killers of African Americans left right and center a couple of decades ago.

A civil trial does not determine guilt or innocence. A civil trial is to settle an arguement between 2 parties, in this case OJ and the Goldman family. Threfore, OJ was found lible not guilty. Other than that, I totally agree with you - the guy should burn in hell.
Clearly he was thinking about his children when he decided to write this book, sort of as a balm, you know to help heal the pain his children have endured. (For those of you that can't read between the lines, that is sarcasm!)
Sheesh, what kind of debased man does that kind of thing to his children and the family of the victims, whether he did it or not. (Though I suspect he DID do it.)
Regan is better looking than Friedman so she should win. OJ was better looking than whoever he was supposed to have done in and so he should win.

O. J. Simpson was found 'not guilty' by a jury who, believe it or not, actually sat in the courtroom not in front of a TV in their living rooms. The jury listened to evidence without comments from newscasters, opinions of pundits or word-of-mouth from family, friends or co-workers. Personally, I believe O. J. looked guilty as hell. The only thing is each time I tuned in to the trail it was obvious the prosecution couldn't prove its case.
OJ should be sitting in a prison cell now, not out trying to make money on recounting the night he killed his wife. What a horrible father he is. How did he even explain to his kids the reason for writing a book about the subject?? 'Hey kids, do you want to know how I did it? Let's sit by the fire and I'll read my book yo you!'
I never thought he did it either. I have always found it interesting how the media talks of the minds of the country being split along racial lines, that's bull. I'm white, and a woman, and I never thought he did it. I'm too young to have been his fan. I watched the whole trial, and I cheered when he was acquitted. Fact is, he was acquitted, so to call him a murderer is slander and/or libel, and he should sue. Everyone's so happy to sue him, like Goldman's family; he should sue in return for them repeatedly calling him a murderer, as a court of law has found him not guilty.
I don't think the book should have been published, but I also don't believe he killed them.

Judith Regan is the literary equivalent of a publishing prostitute or (OJ defense lawyer aka the OJ pimps.) She would probably publish anything to keep her name in the limelight including perpetuating the big lie that OJ Simpson was not a guilty man although all evidence points to the contrary. She was off base and stretched the already nebulous bounds of human decency to the breaking point, and rightly fired. Ms. Regan, Just take it like a real woman, and leave the 'super attorneys' asking someone else for a fee.

I have devoted 1 hour of my life today reading and responding to an article & opinions about a murder that took place a decade ago; to which I can barely reach into my memory banks and cash the small check of clarity.
FACT: 2 lives lost; 2 families instantly ruined.
FACT: Legal Confrontation w/probable SUSPECT; results NO CONVICTION of SUSPECT
FACT: Civil Suit renders an emotionally comforting verdict; diverted by SUSPECT
Reality: At the end of the day, who walks away ahead? THE SUSPECT.
Here is a man who was once a star athlete and actor. Once a millionaire then a fugitive. A black man against the LAPD and all odds against him (evidence too). Here is a man who may have killed 2 people and caused irreversable psychological damage to his own bloodline. A man called upon to pay millions of dollars to repair priceless damage. He looks in the face of the world and laughs loudly with concious arrogance and a book under his arm.
This is not an ordinary person.
He showed US the truest power of man's capabilities. Then he showed US the purest evil we are capable of.
AND It does not matter what YOU or I believe; morally or politically correct, WHAT HAD and WHAT SHOULD have happened. Importance is WHAT IS. What is? OJ is, he is going to bed with a smile on his face knowing that he got everything he has ever wanted. From fame to killing those he hated to finding freedom. He is a REALITY CREATOR. Sad but true (and that's not Metallica speaking) not many people can create.
In our evolutionary struggle, morals didnt keep us alive. In our world, morals wont find justice. Action will.
Hate OJ if it makes you sleep better at night. But at least learn from him.

Regarding Sayer's comments: Emmet Till was killed over 50 years ago, so I was not able to help out with that one or most of the other lynchings that happened in the South before my generation was born. Unfortunately, most of the jurors were thinking like you and decided to correct past history by aquitting an obviously guilty black man in the present.
Don't forget, OJ lived in a upper-class white area of town, but the trial was moved from the Santa Monica court to downtown LA so we would have a more diverse jury pool(i.e. black) so as not to repeat what happened with the Rodney King verdict in Simi Valley. All Johnny Cochran had to do was obscure the issue with some stories about drug dealers (or space aliens!) coming down to kill them, and then throw in the stuff about the racist LAPD and viola, instant aquittal!
This was a 'guilty or innocent' issue before Johnny C played on everyone's fears and prejudices and dealt the race card. Those cops that were let off in Simi Valley ended up being found guilty in a later federal trial that was mainly due to the LA riots. Too bad OJ will never face that kind of 'double jeopardy'.
one thing I dont think anybody has picked up on is that Judith Regan is HOT. she should do something for Hef's magazine. I would read that 'article'. I am saying this for a few reasons hopefully somebody will stop thinking she is all brains. another is that maybe when she steps back notices that she is not as smart as she is good looking she will take on some hard hitting books and stop trying to make a buck.
