Christina Ricci fan fur-ious

Christina Ricci's biggest fan website has been closed down - because the owner disapproves of the actress wearing fur.

The site, www.christinaricci.info, now features the following headline on the homepage, "Offline due to fur usage", which is followed by an explanation from the owner - only known as 'Dodger' - on why they have decided to shut it down.

It reads: "I recently found out Christina doesn't appear to have a problem wearing fur. Well, I do. I also have a problem with people who wear fur. Conclusion: I have a problem with Christina. And now that problem is solved, because I don't have a website about her anymore, so I no longer have anything to do with her."

The eight-year-old site now contains a link to the PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - official website.

Ricci angered PETA activists earlier this year, when she posed for a photo shoot for W magazine wearing fur from a slaughtered reindeer. The fan site now contains a picture of that cover next to a photograph of a seal cub being clubbed to death

Ricci's representative Mara Buxbaum insists the 'Monster' actress holds no grudge against 'Dodger'.

Buxbaum said: "I spoke to Christina, and she said this person is entitled to their own opinion, and she applauds them for sticking by their beliefs."
