Denzel's discomfort
Dec 16, 2006, 8:00 GMT
Denzel Washington says wealth makes him uncomfortable.
The 'Déjà Vu' actor - who regularly features on Hollywood best paid lists - says he has no idea how to spend his fortune.
He told Britain's Live magazine: "I'm just not the acquisitive type. I have three cars and that's as extravagant as it gets for me. My watch cost me $39 and it keeps good time, so why would I need a more expensive one?
"I didn't pay a cent for the clothes I'm wearing - they're free from films."
Despite being one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, Denzel stays grounded because of his children - John David, 22, Katia, 19, and twins Malcolm and Olivia, 15.
He said: "Try telling my children I'm cool. At a push, they'll consider it a cool thing if I get them tickets to a Jay-Z show and we watch from the side of the stage. But that's about as far as it goes."
