Sylvester Stallone struggled to get Hollywood studio executives to support his latest film, 'Rocky Balboa'.
The 60-year-old star - who famously raised $1 million in 1976 to make the first 'Rocky' classic - says he spent six-and-a-half years trying to get his latest project off the ground and faced constant rejection until MGM finally picked it up.
He said: "It's like 'Rocky' - same thing. You just got to do it yourself and hope someone out there believes in you."
Stallone - who has been criticised for being too old to play the boxing hero - insists he will carry on acting well past his retirement age, if he has the will and strength to do so.
He said: "This is uncharted waters. People are living longer. They are healthier. They have more ambition, more energy, yet society is telling them to move aside."
In his latest venture, a retired Rocky Balboa has lost his career and beloved wife Adrian. He spends his days reminiscing about his days of glory at his Italian restaurant Adrian's.
However, when he sees a computer-simulated fight between him and current heavyweight champion Mason "The Line" Dixon on TV, he sets out to prove his strength and talent have not deserted him.

Im sure 'Rocky Balboa' in 2006 will be just as good a 'Rocky ' was in 1976.
