Unromantic Denzel Washington

Denzel Washington is not a romantic. The 'Déjà Vu' actor - who famously proposed to his wife, Pauletta over the phone after six years of dating - feels uncomfortable in overly-romantic situations.He said: "What can I say? She was in Los Angeles, I was in New York and the moment seemed right. Does that not make me the world's most romantic guy? I'm not big on gifts or chocolates or rose petals on bed."The Oscar winner has also revealed that he became an actor by accident after originally planning a career in journalism.He said: "Acting was something I fell into. While spending a year at theatre school I got cast in 'Othello'. That was the turning point for me."The 51-year-old star admits it was the thrill of performing that got him hooked on acting.He said: "I was naïve. All I was thinking was, 'People have paid to see me'. That was thrilling."(C) BANG Media International
