oh yes, there will be more un-pc bloodshed from the The View-meisters.... © Chris Hatcher / Photorazzi
You can say one thing for "The View," with Rosie on the desk, it is never dull. She officially went on the PC offensive and apologized to all who took umbrage to the "Ching Chong Danny DeVito Ching Chong" skit on the morning chat fest.
Said Rosie: "So apparently 'ching-chong,' unbeknownst to me, is a very offensive way to make fun, quote-unquote, or mock, Asian accents. Some people have told me it's as bad as the n-word.
"I was like, really? I didn't know that. [I] never intended to hurt anyone, and I'm sorry for those people who felt hurt or were teased on the playground. There's a good chance that I'll do something like that again...[But] not on purpose."

Yeah, and her appology was not an appology.
Not only did Rosie not sincerely apologize, but she warned that she'd probably do it again. She can jump all over Kelly Rippa for telling Clay that she didn't know where his hand had been, like it was gay bashing or something, but she couldn't see why 'ching chong' would offend Asians? Give me a break. She is an out of control butch dyke and that show needs to get her in check!
Well...I love Rosie. She's one of the sharpest minds on TV. This blunder is definitely not her finest moment, but I still think she's terrific.
'appology'
'Rippa'
No wonder I never pay attention to pop culture. Obviously, it either attracts the stupid, or makes them illiterate, or both.
what is it with failed stand-up comics who resort to racist slurs? With 2 words, Rosie has revealed herself to be the lowest of the low, white trailer park trash with little knowledge of the world. US TV standards have kept slipping over the years, and the fact that an unfunny, unrepentent ignorant imbecile like Rosie hasn't been immediately banned for showing off her single-digit IQ is an even greater condemnation of how substandard talk show TV in the US has sunk to.
Anyone who uses the term 'liberal media' with any degree of seriousness automatically loses ten to twenty IQ points.
Rosie, now it is your turn in the fire. So your double standard, and so call simple 'apologize' makes everything better. How does it feel? How about keeping your 'view' to yourself, and your big yap shut. I wonder now what she thinks about Kelly Ripa!
Rosie thinks that she can get away with anything because she can always accuse her critics of being anti-gay. She thinks that everything is related to being pro-gay or anti-gay, proving that her scope of understanding and VIEW of the world is very limited.
One, I think Rosie is trailer trash who got lucky and made a load of money. You can take the girl out of the trailer but you cannot take the trailer out of the trash, I mean the girl.
Does anybody think her apology was a genuine apology? To say 'that's the way my brain works' and she will probably do it again next week, tells me that she is just a deep rooted moronic bigot and doesn't understand why people are offended. More importantly, she doesn't care that people were offended and learned nothing from the experience. She was like a child who said 'sorry' because others told her to apologize.
Get her off TV.... As someone in one often blogs said, I hope she never adopts a kid from Asia.
It certainly is offensive to Asian people, and she needs to apologize properly for it.
People need to chill. She was NOT making fun of a culture. She was imitating a foreign language. She apologized to make it clear that she would never purposely say something to offend a particular segment of the population. She did NOT use the offensive racial slur that is often used to describe Asians. She did NOT stereotype Asians. She badly imitated a language. Its kind of like when kids don't know the words to a song and they insert nonsensical things in place of lyrics...much like Jessica Simpson did recently. Please relax folks. I think getting so upset over something like this takes away from the importance of someone actually saying overtly hateful racist things, such as Michael Richards did. They are in no way the same thing. That's my take anyway. Thanks for listening.
I think that some Asians are really offended because the only way they are represented in media is in the stereotypical way and Rosie's comment and 'apology' furthers the notion that the Chinese will always be 'foreign'. Ching Chong is long used racial slur used to mock Asians and to use the sound of a gong at the end of her imitation is really stereotypical. I can accept that Rosie is just ignorant, that she wanted to include the Chinese as the last people to watch the View by imitating their two work language, I think she would have succeeded more if she pulled her fingers at the corner of her eyes to show how Chinese she can be. I don't even know if it would be as offensive if she exchanged China for Ireland and said 'Paddy Mick, Paddy Mick, The View...' or 'moo moo, the View' for the obese people. Maybe it should be explained in a comparison, like Elizabeth stating: 'even the lesbian community saw the show... muff diver, muff diver, Danny Devito, muff diver, muff diver, the View, muff diver. *audience laughs* Then have Elizabeth give a semi-apology like, 'I thought that's what lesbians sound like, I didn't know muffs were offensive to lesbians'.

Rosie's getting very little bad press from the liberal media. Who does she think she is, chastizing Kelly Rippa for an innocent comment, yet Rosie can blast whomever she wants?
