Lindsay Lohan AA confirmation

Lindsay Lohan has confirmed she is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
The 20-year-old actress has stopped drinking alcohol completely after going on a series of binges.
She said: "I've been going to AA for a year."
When asked why she hadn't admitted to it sooner, she replied: "Well it's no one's business. That's why it's anonymous!
"I haven't had a drink in seven days. I'm not even legal to, so why would I?
"I don't drink when I go to clubs. I drink with my friends at home, but there's no need to. I feel better not drinking. It's more fun. I have Red Bull."
Lohan believes her partying spiralled out of control because she was working too hard.
She said: "I didn't feel bad before. I never felt bad. I just wanted to, like, find a balance. I was out too much. I was too caught up. I mean, I'm 20. I was off from work, I was getting ready to start a film, and I was like going out just to get it out of my system.
"I was going out too much and I knew that, and I have more to live for than that."
The 'Mean Girls' star is now determined to focus on her acting career, and insists that contrary to popular belief she is a hard worker.
She added: "I was like, I don't want to be written about at these clubs with these people. I work, I act, I earn a living. That's what I do every day. I work every single day."

What about pain killers? Is she taking those? To me she looks a real mess still. I hope she is telling the truth cause she's been doing crazy stuffs lately (sending email to journalists about how she wants to change the world). That girl needs good people around her. She is so young..I somehow saw a younger version of drew barrymore in her. I do hope she sorts herself out.
hey i just wanted to let u know u have been my idol u were the one i looked up to until u lost all that weight and was taking drugs. but now that u have stopped all that and i realised that ur only 20 my age i realised that u dont seem like a bad person im proud of u
she finaly decided to grow up i mean , she was into drugs and lost so much weight and now she is like giving it all up so lets just say , good for her!! keep it up
I can only imagine the presure you deal with. You have everything at your finger tips and you are making the correct decision to lay off the drinking. You have your whole life a head of you and with your acting career you will go to the next level if you stay sober. You are a hit with the young and old, the only way is up, and the only one who can bring you down is your self. Stay strong, stay your self. It will never get easy, but what is these days. I strugled since I was 8 with drinking. I have been sober now 1 year 3 months. I am 31 years old and I am doing great. You can do it.
if she's not even legal to drink, can't the cops read this and arrest her? Besides that, Red Bull is bad for your heart, so i would just have like...something better. I don't know what, but something. Maybe I'll invent one! SWEET!
Sounds like she doesn't really think she's an alcoholic.
She is so beautiful, why she drank? I think she is the most beautiful actress :) In the parents trap movie, she was so nice! It's very good for her, she must keep it up so grow up :). When you look her, you see somebody very smarT! I am waiting his next film. Her acting career will be more better.

The 11th tradition of alcoholics anonymous clearly states:
11. Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.
Linsay is obviously not buying into the program. if she were she never have announced that she had been going.

If she ever had atttended an AA meeting and actually opened her eyes wide enough to read the writting on the wall she would know that the Traditions of AA states:
Eleven—Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.
Lindsay is a perfect example why this tradition is needed. Her lack of willingness to accept the suggestions written on the wall shows she thinks she is different and special. This is a common problem in AA but when she public says she is a sober member of AA and then she drinks she makes AA look like it does not work.
When the truth is AA does work...
But only when you work it!

Good on her for making an effort to change her negative public image. I'm impressed with her comments. Sounds like she's growing up.
