Actually, she's never 'came out' but she's also never denied she's gay that I know of....and being a lesbian doesn't mean she's 'missing out' on anything because she's doing what's in her heart, what makes HER happy, and it shouldn't matter to anyone regardless of what it is. I agree with the fact that Queen Latifah is a beautiful and talented individual. She's not the prettiest woman in the world, but she's not ugly either. Anyone who says she is needs to check themselves. The fact that she is romantically involved with a person of the same sex does not change her beauty or talent. More importantly, it does not change the fact that she is a human being that has rights and feelings. As such, she is entitled to a measure of respect until she has disrespected us personally--which I doubt very seriously she has done.
While we might be disappointed in her sexual preference, it is not our duty to judge her because of it. If we live long enough, we will all make some choices in our lives that will go against the grain of popular opinion. We are living our lives, why can't she live hers? The difference is that she lives hers under the giant microscope of the media. I'm not sure we'd like it if we were subjected to that.
Ugly - honey you don't know what ugly is...Latifah is far from it. Her complexion, dimples, pretty mouth and beautiful faces speaks for itself. I've seen her in person, on several occassions and trust me, her tallness is very sexy.

I remember the scene in set it off that she really slurped that girl down which I thought she did that scene a little too well but when she was doing In Living Single, her femininity really came out to me. Either way she's been doing well in the acting department so that's really all that counts.

I have a childhood friend, who lives in Los Angeles and runs with alot of Black A & B listers and he tells me you would be amazed at the number of bisexual and gay Black stars (male & Female)that he has encountered. He told some of them are your favorites and well respected with the Balck entertainment community. Their is a code that exists that you 'don't tell' in the entertainment society period, if you get 'outed' you do it yourself. We all need to be delivered from something. As long as a person continues in the sin they will not be free from the 3p's or have favor in God's eye's - The Penalty of Sin, the Power of Sin, and the Presence of Sin. Penalty=wages of sin(we continue with it)Power of sin=we allow it to control us, and Presence of sin=we allow ourselves to be a servant to it. In that we allow the adversary=Satan to have control over our lives and not God, He steps away and gives us to ourselves, until you call upon HIM and allow the Holy Spirit to step in and deliver us from the sin and be committed and mature about it. If you're interested and have a bible read Romans 1:24-29 with clarity and research it, take a chance for God. Queen Latifah is a beautiful woman. I always assumed she was gay, even before her role in Set it Off. And SO WHAT. Does it change her beauty or talent? No. Does it change my high opinion of her? No. Frankly, as long as it does not involve abusing children, animals, or hurting anyone, what people do in the privacy of their bedroom should does not concern me, nor should it concern anyone else. Gay people don't do anything sexually that the rest of us do, when you sit down and think about it.
Actually, I think it would be wonderful if she did come out and anyone else who is living in the closet in Hollywood. Maybe that would help people to realize that there is nothing the matter with being GBLT.

Why does Queen Latifah have to be missing out on something b/c she is gay? Would she be missing out on something if she was dating a man of another ethnicity? So why?

I am disgusted at the negative comments on here. Words like 'disappointment' being used. I am not all disappointed if a favourite actress is STRAIGHT, like a few on the L Word that I like. Most people know her as Queen Latifah but I know her as Dana. I know her personally and I address her as Dana. Some of the comments here are typical of people that always have something negative to say. If she would have held a press conference to tell the world her sexuality, it would not have changed our lives one bit. There are so many people that just can't be happy for other people. When did some people start believing that their opinion matters to people that don't care what people say, think or feel about them? As far as someone saying she doesn't know what she's missing, what is she missing? I hope the answer isn't men. Men are one of the reasons why some women become bisexual or lesbian. On the topic of looks, there is no way anyone can call her ugly unless they are a hater. I know a lot of people wish they had a woman with a face that looks half as good as hers. It's like what Katt Williams said: a haters job is to hate so don't get mad at them because they are only doing their job. Here are some things that would change if we go back to living by the 'old school' rules we were told as kids. 1) Being a rat (Snitching): don't be a tattletale. Nobody likes a tattletale. 2) Gossiping-stop being so nosy and never mind what everybody else is doing. You need to concentrate on what you need to be doing. 3) Negative comments: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Lastly, I want everyone to understand and accept that no one person's opinion is right or wrong unless it is due to misinformation. In my opinion, the Queen's best peformance was when she played Cleo (the lesbian) in 'Set it off'. Her sexuality is her private business...When we all pass on, we will be asked questions as individuals...ultimately the Lord will judge us as individuals, not as haters. But as a bloke, I am disappointed and I am entitled to be disappointed! Why, some may say? Well, because I really fancy her! She is beautiful with a capital 'B'. Dana live in NJ in which she has a apartment and a house. She bring all of her flings to the apartment in another part of NJ not to the house. She doesn't want her flings to know where her house is and she is keeping her private gay life a secret. I know this because it happen to me! I had once worked at a Bank in Downtown Manhattan in NY. When she came into the bank she turn around and spotted me as I was working security. A few of the bank workers asked her for an autograph and everytime she looked up she starting looking at me. Finally she came over to me and asked me have I ever model before. I am 5'9 slim ,lightskin with long wavy hair. I told her no and she said that I was tall and pretty enough to be a model and that she could help me. She asked me was I going to come to work tomorrow and I said yes. The next day I wasn't feeling to well so I stay home thinking she wasn't coming anyway. She showed up and the workers told me the next day when I came to work that Dana aka Latifah came there looking for me. She came back the next day after that and walk over to me and told me to call her in which she gave me her cell phone number and I gave her mines. I didn't call her the next day but she called me. She gave a party in NJ and invited me which I went to the party. I met alot of celebrities and after everybody left she asked me what was I doing later. I told her I was going home to get some sleep. She said that I didn't have to go all the way home since I live in Brooklyn, NY. I went home anyway got some sleep and met back up with her later. We went out and had a nice time but later she asked me to come over to her apartment. I went there with her and I asked her who she would be introducing me to that can help me in becoming a model. She told me that we would talk about that later. She said that she was looking for a good woman and that a pretty lady like me deserve the best. She asked me would I like a new car since the one I have is no good. I told her YES! She promise me a car and jewelry and I never received it. She and I had three days of messing around in which she made me feel that it was only me and her. She made me think that we were and item. I am really not into heavy women but she came off like she was so nice and instead, she like playing games. I tried going to that apartment but security will not let me up on her floor in which nobody can get up on her floor it is locked. Dana if you are reading this you know who this is.
