Mel's religious pre-Vatican II retreat in Malibu

Mel Gibson has given $8 Million dollars more to the coffers of a private Catholic church in the tucks of Malibu Canyon off Kanan Road.

Holy Family is a private Catholic church not recognized by any archdiocese. Reports Roger Friedman for FoxNews.com.  The church's beliefs are prior to the revolutionary 1965 Vatican II Conference, which absolved Jews of Christ’s death.

Holy Family Catholic Church adheres to 16th century Catholic values.

Friedman uncovered a September tax filing stating Gibson put $8 million more into his A.P. Reilly Foundation in 2005. "That’s the tax-exempt entity named for his late mother and designed to run his privately built and owned Holy Family Catholic Church in Malibu."

Gibson, according to a Friedman source at the California Department of Justice, is late filing his annual tax forms for A.P. Reilly. Friedman reports that Holy Family’s assets are $22 million. This is a church with 70 parishioners.

Friedman reports that Gibson's A.P. Reilly Foundation, according to public records, started buying property in Malibu in 1977, when it purchased a 9-acre plot for a paltry $51,000.

The church is located on 30188 W. Mulholland Highway, between Sierra Creek and Kanan roads in Agoura Hills, Calif., abutting Malibu and Calabasas.

Gibson's newest movie, Apocalypto, which like The Passion of the Christ, Gibson also financed himself. Distributor Disney is said to have put up up to $25 million to promote and distribute the movie according to Friedman.
