Gwen Stefani's perfume deal
Dec 7, 2006, 12:20 GMT
Gwen Stefani is releasing her own perfume range.
The 'Wind It Up' singer - who has her own fashion label L.A.M.B - has signed a deal with Coty Inc. to create her own line of signature scents.
The range will be released under the L.A.M.B name - which stands for Love.Angel.Music.Baby. - and Gwen has promised fans it will be as unique as her own style.
She said: "Creating a fragrance is one of the most prestigious things a designer can do. For me, it's like another thing you can wear and another thing I can be part of creatively. I'm creating it for myself. It's like me shrunken into a box."
The first perfume will be for women and is expected to be available in late 2007.
Gwen, 37, is just the latest in a long line of stars to release their own scent. Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Lopez have all put their names to perfumes.
Gwen recently admitted she is keen to expand her L.A.M.B fashion line.
The pop beauty said: "We will soon see L.A.M.B competing with Donna Karan's DKNY. The idea is to do the fashion for the rest of my life, although I hate saying it because if it folds everyone will know how much it hurts. There's not a lot of emotional drainage that comes with it. It's fun and rewarding but it doesn't really drain you."

Gwen Stefani is NOT a D list celebrity. Let's get it right, please.
I agree. She is anything but a D list celebrity. Good for her coming out with her own perfume line. Her clothing line is amazing, she's an extrememly talented singer/songwriter, and she seems like a very humble sweet person. GO GWEN!
Please. She is unique. A girl has to have something to fall back on. I'll buy the purfume. Only a true fan will. The Paris, Britney and other child stars don't even compare to Gwen Stefani!
Ooooh I can't wait...probably smells incredible....and, D list?......psh
It will stink like her cheesy attempt at music.
Rigabamboo your a douche bag
Something to fall back on!? Other than her stupidly large bank account? Im sick of these celebs doing fragrances. Just because you happent to be famous doesn't mean you should cheat people of the their hard earned money. I used to like Gwen when she was in No Doubt, then she released her version of 'Rich Girl' or whatever and it dissapeared in a flash. Yeah, you ARE a rich girl, so don't go singing about what you'd do if you where. She's become so pretentious.
every 1 just jelous that she has acheived somut big so dnt b nasty 2 her coz she's doin er best 2 entertain us all and make money and any 1 else would. it probably does smell cheesey but she as tried er best. any way gwen aint a d list celeb she is an a lister or she wouldnt get awards. think b 4 u type.
can't she use an original logo though (the L in that font is used in a popular anime and is quite disgraceful that she used THAT L).

Is there some unwritten law that states every celebrity, even D lisers it seems, have to launch a purfume line? Just once I would like to see an entertainer stick with entertaining and not mass producing smellies or clothing. For the sake of my sanity, please, no more 'eau de fame'
