Snoop Dogg is still a member of a notorious Los Angeles street gang, according to police.
The gangster rapper - real name Calvin Broadus - was arrested for possession of drugs and a firearm on Tuesday (28.11.06) outside Los Angeles' NBC studios where he had been filming a performance for 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'.
Police investigating the incident have now claim to have discovered the 35-year-old singer is still involved with the Crips gang - an American criminal group that is heavily involved with illegal activities such as crack cocaine dealing.
Police Sergeant Kevin Grandalski is quoted by Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Information developed during this investigation confirmed that Mr Broadus is both a convicted felon and an admitted 'Rollin' 20's Crips' criminal street gang member who continues to associate with other Crips criminal street gang members."
Snoop was charged and bail was set at $60,000. He is due in court on December 4.
The rapper made his affiliation to the street gang known when he spoke at the funeral of Crips co-founder Stanley 'Tookie' Williams.
'Tookie' was jailed in 1979 for murder and was executed last year despite becoming a reformed peace activist and a strong campaign backed by Snoop to get him off death row.
Other famous rappers associated with the Crips gang include Warren G and Nate Dogg.

...what is Ceasars. Sounds pretty conclusive to me, lame brain.
Tookie wasn't killed, he was rehabilitated. It was 100% successful.

WWJD?
'Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, 'He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.' And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, 'Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?' She said, 'No man, Lord.' And Jesus said unto her, 'Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.''
- John 8:1-12
So, let me understand, Jeema. Jesus would have freed Tookie at his arraignment? What sorts of vile and viscious acts would deserve punishment, then? If any, who would be fit to deliver that punishment, since there is none perfect except the Father? It appears you're saying that the concept is crime is antithetical to the Gospel and the prisions should be emptied completely and permanently and now. Is that it?
Snoop Dogg is a gangsta - keeps his pants rolled up but only on the left side, yeah, that's the crip side? Of course, this article results in a religious flame war. What else?
Heh.
Jeema,
She did not commit murder so the action Jesus took was according to bible teachings. Read again the “Roster’s” paragraphs they show more bible teachings regarding MURDER. It is not fair that one who takes a precious life is honored with redemption. One who is brazen enough to take a life should honor his own family and more importantly honor the dead one’s family with his own life. What is the value of a murder's concern with the value of life when it is only his own.
Dude, you don't eeven know what you are talking about. Who are you to speak?
Snoop had it made,
cruisin in his shades
now I hope he go to prison,
and get AIDS
You jesus talkers are ruining the earth. Seriously. Go away.
What does a fable have to do with the American criminal justice system?
If you don't like the Jesus talk.....then you should go away.....you're in the minority......seriously.
So yes, tookie did some bad things but since this is religious god is forgiving and I have no problem believing that god will forgive a man that killed 4 people but when this man was placed in jail for 20 years it gave him the resources and time to better himself, reading the entire dictionary he was able to teach himself new words and with those words teach himself to make choices. He then went on to be a HUGE peace activist and was even nominated for the nobel prize...

Now that's what I call California dreaming!!
You flockin religious nut jobs need to start thinking for yourself. Why does it always have to be about what some prophet said? Instead of qouting scriptures why not consider the situation. Tookie killed a couple of people and then went on to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. If that is not deserving forgiveness than what is? Now back to the subject. Why is it that Snoop gets arrested 3 times in 3 months? How did he get pulled over that many times? A blind midget driving an 18 wheeler would not get pulled over that many times in three months. Hip-hop police probably have a hard on for him right now.
WTF, Despite the fact he was a reformed criminal?.... huh? Oh yeah, that thing he did was MURDER... and yeah, he did it. Phuc Nookie Williams and Goop Mutt, I will give somemone a carton of smokes to rape Mutt Dogs ass. Any takers?
Why heck! My great grand pappy used to ride around with his good old buddies just like Snoop and his gang. Lord knows they'd all done time for some such shenanigans or or other involving fisticuffs, moonshine and the like - couple did a stint for manslaughter as I recall.
Now, I reckon it's sorta the same thing with only one difference. Riding around with mind altering refreshments, a few shotguns, the odd handgun or knife is perfectly legitimate behavior -- if you're a white male living in the South out to have a good time. Heaven help you if you're black since you must certainly be up to no good.
Nice to see the double standard still applies. Good thing I'm a poor white dude, 'cause I'd hate to be a rich black one in this country.
Send the DOgg to the Pound, preferably inn the Hispanic section of in the CA State Penn. Might learns some manners and respect there, plus speak coherently.
Toss him in jail and throw away the key. He is a loser and always will be.
Show me a rapper that doesn't smoke pot and has never owned a gun and I'll show you... let's see... how 'bout a unicorn?
He's not a bad dude. He just does stuff on a regular basis that everyone has tried (or wanted to try) at least once. They're on his ass because it looks good in the media. Why not use your thousands of man hours tracking down an ounce of pot on a celebrity on something more worthwhile like finding a rapist or the 'real killer' OJ eludes to. Ha!
You religious addicts, take note that all of your Bible laws are from the OLD TESTAMENT. Yes, Jesus said he wasn't here to destroy the law and the prophets. He didn't say he was here to enforce them, either. He said he was here to fulfill them, and he did that on the cross, period. Go back and read what Jesus Himself actually said and did: He mocked the Pharisees for being hung up on laws--and how to get around them. I believe he referred to them as 'vipers' brood.'
I think Jesus also had a few choice words for those of you who bleat about how religious and holy *you* are in public. You have your reward. Move on to your next self-aggrandizing speech, okay? And stay out of the government. Want a religious state? Move to Iran.
Now get off of your high moral horse and look for logs in your own eyes before you go pointing out specks you think you see in others'.
As for Tookie Williams, he's dead. Gone. If you want to honor his legacy, do it in a way that you think he'd have wanted to be honored. Something tells me it's not bitching in some talkback forum.
Snoop? Harassment, plain and simple. The police in the US do not enforce the law. They know exactly where the crimes are being committed. The police issue citations when the city/county/state tells them that revenue is down. The only cases which are prosecuted are those which look like a 'slam dunk', or at least guarantee favorable press coverage for the prosecutors who are up for re-election. Or re-appointment.
Gee, ya think hassling Snoop will take some of the heat off of L.A.'s finest having beaten down yet another minority? Whether or not he 'deserved' it (no one deserves that treatment) doesn't matter. Notice how government is much more concerned with PR than the promises they made to acquire the power they have now. Like cheating spouses, they deny everything right up until incontrovertible evidence is presented. Then they try to play it off or distort it to their advantage. Our leadership is unfaithful to us because they're in bed with corporations and other wealthy interests. See also TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. We'd all be dumping tea into the harbor if we weren't so busy working, paying bills, and playing games.
This is Rome, y'all. The Republic is gone, and the Empire which took its place is crumbling. Don't believe me? Wait a few more years for more Baby Boomers to get too old and/or sick to care for themselves. Then you'll see true decadence. We may even get the leaked equivalent of 'Let them eat cake.'
Snoop needs to go to jail. If not, lets all carry handguns with us. Stupid negro had it made with fame, money and hoes. He just can't stay away from the gang lifestyle. I don't see what it is about ganglife that can be so attractive? Like I said, he's one stupid negro!
It is laughable that people praise Tookie for being a peace activist while he was beating up and tormenting fellow inmates, and continuing to hand orders down to his gang from prison
As for Snoop, getting arrested is a career move. The street cred he earns from being arrested maintains his image, and provides enough publicity to keep him on peoples minds that when they walk in the record store they remember to pick up his album. Sure he had to pay $60,000 bail, but being in every newspaper/website probably boosted his sales by $180,000 for the month.
Capital panishment is wrong,no authority should have such power as to take a human life, especialy an authority that is applied by other humans!
Offcourse u would then say so who gives the right to the murderer to murder people?,and i say to you that 2 wrongs don't make a right!
Because if its ok by some people to have authority to kill other people legaly, then i say to you that i can also decide that such an authority is given to me too,by who?,well it doesn't matter,i can say say and even feel and believe that its by god him self,so what.....im crazy and i can kill people two, others do it too and legaly!
It is simply wrong PERIOD!
that big ole post up there,,, ya,,, thats right,
the baby boomers are an issue.
to see the baby boomers eat so much cake, the cookie crumbles.
as the earth rumbles.
but what the hell... why dont we all have handguns, i mean who is somone else to say,
i forbid you carry somthing that u use for your survival, and for somone to forbid you that right , and for us to obide, really either makes me think that many of you beleive survival is not an issue, or you are already partially , a brainwashed naive,,person, who will trade their own son, for SAFETY,,,AND thats really that,,, the new puxh to the f'in baby boomers is SAFETY and scandelous reverse mortgage brokers ,,, while their children cannot afford to live in the kinda of lifestyle there parents had,,, and let me tell you there parents were prett7y stupid , and deffinitly not rich,,,,, but one problem is that ,,,, there is allot of them ,,, thats whey they are the baby boomers,,, and well ,,, what did they do ,,, they each had about 3 marriages and poped out kids in 2 of them ,,,,, thus,,,, their childrens families were fracktured , and the parents used up all the resources,,,,
truthfully ,,, they suck,,, but ,,, ya know disfunction clears the path for change.
hopefully.
adam
and i would bet it aint going to be pritty,,, old mis kitty , with her diamonds and rouge...
It is always very amusing reading G-d haters posting about the Bible and stuff. You haters don't know anything about religion. G-d loves all of us, but we must be responsible for this world. People who murder, commit sexual perversions, steal, and do other sins must be punished. Without G-d there is only chaos. G-d created the world for a purpose, those who oppose the purpose are certainly against G-d and it is the reason they will not survive. Pray for what you need, but realize that you are a part of the greatest thing in the universe, the life you have is a gift. Bless G-d with hymns and prayer, and offer your time and money to those in need. But don't pity the murderer, and dont defend the guilty. The only one who can forgive a murderer is unable to do so, and G-d is the only one who can forgive in this case. I pray for the lost souls in the world, your hatred is fed by the forces of evil. Close your eyes and pretend G-d doesn't exist, maybe you will find temporary respit from the hell of life you are living. The truely righteous will end their sinful ways and repent immediately.
PS: Snoop Dog is a sinning murderer and all who listen to him are already on the wrong path.

Po' cracker wanna whine 'bout de rich homies! Pasty-faced loser. Only thing you got against Snoop is that he was smart enough to make his own money and keep it in his pocket. Praise God! Another brother gets one over on the man. Go OJ!

Hail Satan! Naughty One! Bad Angel! Party on, Dude! All the fun people go to Hell, dontcha know!
Consider me on the right path to the Eternal Party as opposed to the Eternal Snooze Fest.
I think gang culture is pathetic.
I think the whole hip-hop culture is deplorable for supporting and even promoting gang culture. The hip-hop industry turns a blind eye to the corruption of gang culture, and anyone that tries to speak against the culture is labeled a 'racist', even though it has nothiing to do with race, and hasn't for at least 15 years.
Anything we can do to cut down on gang culture I think is a good thing. I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with targeting gang culture. After living in Portland for a while, where people don't want to pay taxes for police, I learned what gangs are capable of. I used to think Tacoma was bad, but then I learned. I used to think police in Tacoma were too harsh, but I learned. I look at gang culture as a disease.
Gang culture, hip-hop culture--it breeds stupidity, ignorance, violence, and being as materialistic as possible, where bling bling, hoes, hydrolics for a crappy car that barely runs, and all that materialism is what people live their lives for, and then rank on non hip-hop culture for being materialistic sheep. The culture is hypocritical.
y'all are idiots god didn't put us here to judge others. we haven't walked their path. as far as snoop goes let the courts get the facts and rule until you're on that jury you can't decide his fate. he's a good rapper if you like rap and a smart businessman, cause it is a business.. but his getting arrested isn't hurting anyone but him and his family. every time you point a finger remember how many you have pointing back at you...
poverty and deprivation and opression causes chaos. the politicians and status quo and the greedy filthy rich need to be punished.
Michael:
You said to Jeema: '...What sorts of vile and viscious acts would deserve punishment, then? If any, who would be fit to deliver that punishment, since there is none perfect except the Father?'
You missed Jeema's point entirely. The question is not 'What sorts of vile and viscious acts would deserve punishment, then?'--they ALL deserve punishment. Jesus--and Jeema's--point is that while the woman caught in adultery WAS guilty and deserving of death, so were her accusers. Even though they hadn't sinned in the same way as this woman, they still were black-handed guilty of many other things. And because their hands weren't clean, they were not qualified to stone her. Jesus didn't say 'Don't kill this woman.' He said, 'Whoever among you has clean hands, let him hit her first.' Well, nobody did. All that being said, the only One who IS qualifed to deliver true punisment is the Father, because, as you said, there is none Perfect except Him.
Now, as I don't feel sorry for Snoop Dog, I do feel sorry for the gangster-looking people that end up being the brunt end of police brutality and violence. It happens far too often and it is something that should never be considered acceptable.
I know that police are under stress but things like the killing of Sean Bell is just not cool at all, and it says a lot about the negative side of profiling, but until gangs are happy-go-luckly types who carry flowers in their pockets instead of guns, and listen to classical and jazz and rock instead of extra-loud gangster rap (that rattles the trunk) that glorifies the gangster lifestyle, it's going to be a profile that is accurate 95% of the time.
Most of the time, police act like they do because they're scared, quite honestly. A gun can change people, power can change people even more than money can. Look at what they did during the wto protests in Seattle, and then follow it with how they reacted in Seattle when there was violence everywhere at Martigras at pioneer sqare. The peaceful wto protesters got tear gas thrown at them and got beat up and rubber bullets and were treated like crap, and the violent people at Mardigras were completely ignored.
There is definitely a problem with law enforcement, but it's not skin deep.
I didn't bring up this other side in my last post, and I apologize for that.
What's crackin' c4lif and the 6ird azzz nigga who said snoop should die of aids need to eat a dick..... caarip
i do understand this s*** if the parents of the victims say they forgive him then why kill him anyway (r.i.p Stanley Tookie Williams)a gang member myself didnt like the dicisions arnold kill a nigga made. but crips and blxxds was on stanley side because he showed it could be a change if he's around so 52 hxxvv gansta crips which i am is not go stop gang bangin just because of this mistake (R.i.p stanley/Raymond/queen sheilba/stay up larry and c-careful shorty freeman) p.s national gangs ant go stop but stanley had our minds there

An old Tookie essay:
Clemency?
I would appreciate your attention regarding another case for the death penalty of a convicted murderer. Stanley “Tookie” Williams has sat on Death Row for more than 20 years being fed & housed at the taxpayers expense even though he murdered four people whose families will never be able to see them again in this life. The governor is considering clemency for Williams & it would be a terrible error in judgement for him to do so. The definition of clemency is the disposition to show forbearance, compassion, or forgiveness in judging or punishing. The question is whether or not he should be forgiven. I would not expect the humanists ( those who hold themselves in the position as being little deities ) or even many Christians who have depended upon a “titled teacher” to understand that the foundation of law is God. God has never given man the authority to make law, only to administer His Law.
The Word of God states, “ If a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor to slay him with guile ( treachery ); thou shalt take him ( the murderer ) from mine altar, that he may die” ( Exodus 21:14). Many so called teachers of Scripture would say Christ changed everything so we could have redemption . I would like to remind the teachers and students of the Bible to understand what Christ Himself said in Matthew 5:17 – 19: “Think not that I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall no wise pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever, therefore, shall break one of the least commandments, and shall teach men so; he shall be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.” 1 John 3:15 Jesus Christ states, “no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” It is true to this day and as the prophet Hosea warned us: God says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me: seeing thou hast forgotten the Law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” (Hosea 4:6).
The sentence for a murderer ( one who slays with guile ) is carried out by civil authorities as ordered by God: “ Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood ( the executioner ) that he may die. Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away the guilt of innocent blood from Isreal
( Ish = children, Ra = reigning, El = God; in other words His children reigning with Him ) THAT IT MAY GO WELL WITH THEE.” ( Deut. 19:12,13 ). People who reject God and His Laws make the argument that the death penalty is vengeful, cruel and unChristian. They fail to realize God’s intelligence deals in no such ridiculous arguments.
God states very simply that execution of murderers and punishment of other criminals is so that “those which remain shall hear, and fear, and shall henceforth commit no more any such evil thing among you!” ( Deut. 19:20 ). All of God’s Laws & Judgements were given for our good, yet so many seek a “human” solution or listen to foolish ministers who say they need not be obeyed. God’s punishment falls upon all nations for their abandonment from the protection of His Love, just as it is falling upon America today; the nation that claims “ In God We Trust!” copyright 2005MA
