Sylvester Stallone was determined to make a sixth 'Rocky' film because the fifth one was so awful.
The 60-year-old action star was determined to bring the heroic boxer back to life on the big screen in new movie 'Rocky Balboa' because he was sick of fans complaining about the last instalment.
Stallone said: "I know 'Rocky V' disappointed a lot of people. I felt the same way about it and that was gnawing away at me every time people said to me they liked the first four but not that one.
"When the option of doing another one came up I thought the time was right to do another one, just to make sure it was finished properly. That's just what life is like."
Stallone has also revealed that his wife Jennifer Flavin tried to talk him out of reprising his famous role because she was worried he was too old to cope with the physical demands of the movie.
He explained: "She was right. I mean, she was just trying to protect her husband from what actually was a totally crazy idea, but now she likes it."
