Heather Mills gets death threats

Heather Mills has been left fearing for her life after receiving a barrage of death threats.

The former model has been labelled a "gold-digger disgrace" and a "one-legged b***h" in a series of angry emails sent to her website, www.heathermills.org, since her split from husband Sir Paul McCartney.

The 38-year-old blonde - who lost her left leg after being run over by a police motorbike in 1993 - has been left so frightened by the vehement attacks she has asked her sister Fiona to screen all emails posted by the public via the messaging facility on the site.

One of the offensive notes reads: "Dear Heather, you are nothing but a bloody gold-digger disgrace... go to your bloody minefields, preferably without a detector."

Another says: "One-legged b***h! How dare you do this to Paul! Die ugly dog!"

Despite insisting on US TV last week that she gets "nothing but support" from the public, friends say Heather is constantly abused in the street.

A source said: "She is deeply upset about how people have turned against her. The reality is she often gets abuse in the street when she goes out."

There is also no love lost between Paul's fashion designer daughter Stella McCartney and Heather, and Paul supporters have also been keen to remind the former model about this.

One posting from an American read: "His kids were right about you. You will never be a lady! Linda was a real wife. You are a nobody. Now clear off and disappear!"
