Will Ferrell doesn't think he is a good enough actor to take on a serious role.
The 'Old School' star is planning to stick with comedies because he doubts he could convincingly play a tragic character.
Will said: "I'd much rather be in comedy. In my view, comedy wins out in the long run. I'm not sure I'm a good enough actor to play real tragedy, so I bring a comic element to most things as my answer to the world's problems.
"I'm not a clown though. I love goofing around, but I don't feel the need to act the clown in private. Although I do confess that I sometimes put outfits together to annoy my wife."
The 39-year-old star insists he would do anything to make people laugh.
Will - whose movies include 'Old School', 'Elf' and 'Talladega Nights' - will happily humiliate himself if people find it funny.
He said: "I have nothing against running around in my underwear. Somehow, a guy running in his underpants is funny. I will always do it if it's funny."
