"The View" doyenne Barbara Walters, who rules the roost at the fractious and rife with drama show, has made it clear the erupting feud between her co host Rosie O'Donnell and rival host Kelly Ripa over Rosie O'Donnell's inadvertent "outing" of Clay Aiken has come to an end.

"I love this show to be lively, and yesterday it certainly was lively," said Walters, who had taken the day off on Tuesday. "This is what I want to say. Rosie O'Donnell is one of the kindest, most sensitive people I know. And so is our friend Kelly Ripa. And Rosie and Kelly talked yesterday after the show. Rosie and Clay Aiken have talked. And all is well with the world, and all is well with them. So let's move on."

Calling herself "Mama Bear," Walters said that her speech was not rehearsed and that O'Donnell was unaware it was going to be said. Reports People magazine.

O'Donnell replied, "The sheriff is back in town! There you go."

This all was in response to O'Donnell accusing Ripa of making a homophobic remark about Aiken on Live With Regis & Kelly , when Ripa told Aiken, who'd tried to cover her mouth, "I don't know where that hand's been, honey!"

Ripa then countered, calling in to The View to say O'Donnell's accusation was "outrageous."

Aiken good-naturedly participated in a skit about it during the American Music Awards on Tuesday night. As Aiken and Tori Spelling were introducing John Mayer, Spelling put her hand over Aiken's mouth and said, "I'll tell you where that hand's been later."

The two of them show very little respect for the third party, the shows, and one another

First it was Tom Selleck, and now Kelly Rippa. Get over it, Rosie.

It will never be over as long as Rosie continues making the topic of homosexuality her utmost priority.

all you losers who think they have to offer their opinions, wtfn? Why do you care? do you think you will ever meet any of those people? Your lives must be incredibly empty to even care. Morons like you are the reason America is so weak. Who the eff cares who anyone has sex with? if you do, you are a pathetic loser.

Kelley has handled this situation professionally. There Rosie goes again -- sticking her nose where she has no business. Why is this what Barbara wanted on 'The View!'

Give Rosie her own show about her gay view. For her it is about, 'us against them.' Get over your gay view of everything, we are tired of it!

Rosie always wants to get her favorite topic in on everything. Homosexuality. She was very unprofessional as usual. Kelly on the other hand, was very professional and kind.

I think that Rosie is the worst host to have for any show because of her discriminatory outlook.

Rosie is just plain nuts. How dare she turn something so trivial into something of monumental proportion. I wish they would get he off of 'The View.' She seems to have taken over the entire show the few times I had the opportunity to see some of the show. As you can see, not everybody loves Rosie. She is way to popular as far as I am concerned.

Someone should have put a muzzle on Kelly's mouth long ago. She hogs the show. She doesn't let anyone else hardly get a word in. So, whose next?

Rosie O’Donnell got it right!

Two years ago, “Live with Regis and Kelly” televised a mean-spirited homophobic skit ridiculing Clay Aiken. Near the start of the show on Friday, November 17, 2006, Kelly aired only part of the skit video with Clay sitting right next to her as co-host. In the original homophobic “Halloween costume” skit, Kelly is dressed up as Clay and Regis is dressed up as Bo Bice. After Kelly does her karaoke of Clay’s hit song “Invisible” (the part of the tape she aired on Friday morning), Kelly, still dressed as Clay, proceeds to smother “Bo” with a face full of kisses. While Kelly’s quip about the whereabouts of Clay’s hand might be debatable, the homophobic “Halloween costume” skit confirms Rosie’s view. Two years ago, Kelly made it very clear that she perceived Clay to be gay.

Assigning homosexuality to someone who has denied he is gay constitutes homophobic behavior. I don’t believe that Rosie assigned homosexuality to Clay when she accused Kelly of making a homophobic statement. Even if Rosie had, it was too late because Kelly had already “outed” Clay two years earlier. Homophobia can be directed at individuals who are merely perceived to be gay. Kelly clearly assigned homosexuality to Clay when, in the “Halloween costume” skit, she portrayed Clay smothering another man’s face with kisses. That skit, in its entirety, was homophobic. Shame on Kelly and LWRK!

July 10, 2003, issue of Rolling Stone magazine...“One thing I’ve found of people in the public eye,” Aiken says, “either you’re a womanizer or you’ve got to be gay. Since I’m neither one of those, people are completely concerned about me.” October 2, 2006, issue of People magazine…“It doesn’t matter what I say. People are going to believe what they want.”

The events of the past week come down to one rhetorical question: Is Kelly Ripa a homophobic hypocrite or a hypocritical homophobe?
