Leonardo DiCaprio's mother is still hoping he will get back with his ex-girlfriend - supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

The 'Titanic' star split from the Brazilian beauty a year ago and is now dating Israeli model Bar Refaeli, but his mum Irmelin still loves Gisele - who is now romancing surfer Kelly Slater - and attended her Victoria's Secret fashion show in Los Angeles this week.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Gisele is still the ideal daughter-in-law. Irmelin can't let go. They hung out at the after party and later took their dog Jango for a walk together.

"Jango was Leo and Gisele's dog when they were together and they now share custody of the pet like a child."

Meanwhile, Leonardo has told friends he has no plans to settle down as he is yet to find "Mrs Right".

And as a further blow to his 21-year-old girlfriend Bar, the actor also revealed he would only buy diamonds for his mother.

Leonardo, 32, is about to star in new blockbuster 'Blood Diamond', a controversial film about the mining of conflict diamonds.

When asked how he feels about buying diamonds, he replied: "Well, I don't remember the last time I have.

"My mom is the only person that I would buy something like that for, and for a while now she hasn't wanted one. But that isn't to say that people shouldn't buy them."
