David Beckham: No acting ambitions
Nov 22, 2006, 12:10 GMT

David Beckham has rubbished rumors he wants to be the next Tom Cruise.
The Real Madrid soccer star insists that, contrary to reports, he has no plans to follow in the footsteps of his 'Mission: Impossible' star friend when he finally hangs up his boots.
He said: "No way! I never wanted to be an actor. I don't want to act. It has never appealed to me."
David, 31, revealed his only post-career ambition is to spend time with his wife Victoria and their children, Brooklyn, seven, Romeo four and one-year-old Cruz, and to do more charitable work.
He added: "When I finish my career what I want to do most is spend more time with my sons and Victoria and do some work for good causes.
"I want to create more sports schools for children."
The former England captain made his movie debut with a cameo appearance as himself in the soccer drama 'Goal!'. He is also set to star in two sequels.
But David is determined to stick to what he does best and as his wedding gift to pal Tom Cruise - who wed Katie Holmes last weekend - he has offered to give his children a soccer lesson.
Tom's adopted children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Conor, 11 and 13-year-old Isabella, are crazy about the sport and are said to be thrilled about the prospect of a coaching session with David.
A source said: "David has lots of tricks to show. The kids will have a great time."
