Hero Leonardo DiCaprio
Nov 21, 2006, 12:10 GMT
Leonardo DiCaprio is being hailed as a real-life hero after saving a co-star from a gunman.
The 'Titanic' actor bravely stepped in between the armed attacker and actor Djimon Hounsou while they were filming new movie 'Blood Diamond' in Mozambique.
Hounsou said: "He stood in the way of somebody who was trying to shoot me. We went to eat somewhere and apparently somebody was threatening to kill me there.
"Leo said, 'Well, you're gonna have to go through me.'"
DiCaprio's courageous intervention startled the gunman who quickly fled from the scene.
Hounsou is still unsure as to why he was targeted, but insists he will forever be indebted to his co-star.
Meanwhile, DiCaprio has also displayed his generous-nature by pledging to financially support a South African orphanage after becoming attached to a little girl being brought up there.
He said: "She was a young girl on set. I just became attached to this kid.
"It was a great feeling to walk into this orphanage and see what happens when people contribute money and time to helping children who have lost everything."
