Cruise's best man accompanies on honeymoon
Nov 20, 2006, 12:20 GMT

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes jetted out of Rome for their honeymoon in the Maldives yesterday (19.11.06), accompanied by the best man.
The newlyweds were spotted boarding a private jet with senior Scientologist David Miscavige at Ciampino airport at 6am, just hours after the last guests had left their extravagant wedding reception at the Odescalchi Castle in Lake Bracciano.
Family and friends turned up to give the happy couple a warm sending off before catching their own flights.
A VIP flight handler told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "There must have been 50 of his friends and family here early this morning, a lot of them still drunk. They looked tired and tipsy and some were noisy."
Tom and Katie tied the knot in front of more that 150 star-studded guests - including Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony, Jada Pinkett Smith and her actor spouse Will, Jim Carrey and his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and Brooke Shields - and sealed their union with a "never-ending kiss" at the end of the ceremony.
Fashion designer Giorgio Armani, who created Katie's wedding gown, said: "The kiss lasted so long it caused some guests to shout, 'Stop, stop!'"
The service was conducted by a Scientology minister, but according to a statement released by the couple's Los Angeles publicist Arnold Robinson the pair had already been wed in a civil ceremony in the US before heading to Italy to make their vows.

Those who critizise Tom are the jealous ones, even the reporters who report on him. Should he cares? No
Sincere? Philanthropist? Fairytale? Fake, manipulative and exploitive are all far more appropriate terms. Nothing Tom does is 'real'.
The first two posters on this thread sounds like $ posing as regular people, disregard their comments, as they are on a mission to sanitize and homogenize anything TC. Anything to keep the rehtoric down that TinyTom brought DaintyDave on his honeymoon . The entire event just wreaks of creepy cultishness and PR that TinyTom should have known wouldn't elevate his standing in the movie going publics eye . Besides, I read the marriage wasn't even legal . He could write a book . I have the title ' How to kill your career faster than Russell Crowe '
I wish them and Dave all the best !
Katie is so courageous! We all know Tom has his sexual problems and as another commenter noted, his brutality. Hopefully she'll make an honest MAN out of him and get her career jump started just like that hussy Nicole did. Tom isn't getting any younger.
Xenu Bless Them!
You people are just jealous that Tom overcame his homosexuality and you haven't.
Warning! Scientology uses hypnosis techniques on you without your knowledge or consent.

Difficult to know for sure,,,but there are reports that say the Italian celebration was somewhat of a 'ruse', meaning that it was a platform for Scientology? Perhaps Tom has found the love that everyone aspires to?
At first I felt sorry for poor ol' katiebug. Now,I realize she is just as big a weirdoflake as Tommy boy. They deserve each other. The odd looking baby will grow up rich, but at what sad price?
The 'kiss that lasted forever' was preceded by an airtight pre-nuptial agreement. On the one hand the couple is saying 'very' publicly that they will love each other until they are parted by death. Whatever the rite and whatever the divorce rate, this is the essential commitment in any 'marriage'. But when you plan your exit strategy before you commit, does this not call into question the gravity of the commitment? The pre-nup begs the questions, 'How much does Tom really trust (love) Katie? How can he possibly trust her with his heart, if he so obviously doesn't trust her with his treasure?' While I wish them a long and happy life together, it does not seem that this is what they themselves are intending.
All of you Tom Cruise haters obviously have tons of time on your hands due to a lack of a personal life.
Get your own!
Roger
Good luck to Tom and Katie!
The first two postings ARE flaming scientologists, obviously. Their buzzwords--'ridicule' 'media' 'secular progressives' are straight out of the co$ terminology handbook. Elizabeth clearly idolizes Tom (scientology-style) and says that she admires his brutal honesty but she cannot tolerate the brutal honesty of the 'secular progressives' when they reveal him to be the bigoted, manipulating, maniac that he is.

Regarding your article about Tom and Katie Cruise's Wedding and Honeymoon:
It was a beautiful wedding for a deserving couple!
Katie is a lovely and sincere lady, and Tom is a brutally honest and giving person. In a time where showing enthusiastic love and sincereness may be ridiculed by secular progressives as 'old-fashioned', Tom and Katie are bringing it back in style as the way to be. Their fairy tale wedding in Bracciano, Italy is simply the capping-off of a dream-come-true. I wish them many wonderful years together, and for their children. It's unfortunate that a few who have not done as much for others, strived as hard as they, or accomplished what they have accomplished, seem to need to demean their joy and show of love for each other. Why not rejoice for them as they would likely rejoice for you? Though under-reported by an oft vicious media looking only for sensationalized fodder, Cruise happens to be a philanthropist and contributor to world-wide and important causes. Seeing Holmes, I would say that she definitely has the 'heart' to follow Tom in these endeavors. Good luck and good journey'ing to you both, Katie and Tom.
