Hollywood stars converge on Rome ahead of TomKat wedding

Rome - Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey and Brooke Shields were among the Hollywood celebrities who arrived in Rome on Thursday ahead of this weekend's wedding between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.
Scores of paparazzi gathered at Rome's small Ciampino airport to catch snapshots of the stars, with the three-day celebration due to start in the evening in an undisclosed location.
According to reports, the couple are to tie the knot on Saturday in a medieval castle in Bracciano, a small town overlooking a volcanic lake located about 30 kilometres north of the Italian capital.
Cruise and his wife-to-be arrived in Rome earlier this week and have been staying at the city's exclusive Hassler Hotel. On Wednesday they attended a dinner hosted by Mayor Walter Veltroni.
John Travolta is rumoured to be flying into Rome on his private jet along with other Hollywood stars in the coming hours.
The 'wedding of the year', as it has been dubbed by the Italian media, is to be conducted by an official from Scientology, the cult of which Cruise and Travolta are known followers.
