Michael Jackson's whopping WMA demands

Nov 15, 2006, 12:20 GMT

Michael Jackson has outraged organisers of the World Music Awards, after making backstage demands totalling a staggering £250,000.

Jackson - who is set to perform his classic hit 'Thriller' at tonight's (15.11.06) ceremony in London - demanded personal hair and make-up artists, a private jet and 20 first-class plane tickets for his entourage.

The eccentric singer has also made a number of outrageous demands to staff at the Hempel Hotel, in London's Bayswater area, where he is staying at a cost of £6,300-a-night.

Upon Jackson's request the lavish hotel has erected an 18ft wall on its first floor to provide more privacy for him and his three children, Prince Michael, nine, Paris, eight, and four-year-old Prince Michael II.

A source said: "Yes, he's eccentric but he wants to create a homely environment for them."

However, the 48-year-old star's unusual requests have apparently earned him a bad reputation among London's top hoteliers.

A source said: "Loads of other hotels turned him down because they were worried about being besieged by fans. They were also nervous about his demands."

It's nice to see that there are articles being submitted by the mass media that aren't comlete lies. And safety shouldn't be considered an eccentricity...You would do the same in those cirmunstances.

Went to the World Music Awards last night. Wow, what an incredible let down. The event was dreadful and Michael should have done 100% better than he did. Very disappointing to say the least. He best give it a go or just retire and save us the will he or wont he nonsense...

You need to stop. You know that if you were worth upwards of $250 million dollars you'd make some outrageous demands too. We all would. It would be no different if Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt stayed there, they too would make some outrageous demands. The only difference would be that no one would say anything about it. Leave micheal alone, he's worth more money than you'll ever touch in you and your children's lifetime, so leave him alone. CHIMON!!! HE HE HE!!!! AOWWWW!!!!

The difference between Maria Scary and Wacko would be that Maria doesn't take such an 'interest' in young boys. It's a good thing they knocked down that wall in the hotel. We wouldn't want the children sleeping in a different room than Mike. That would just be crazy!
