Michael Jackson printing his own money, takes over hotel

Nov 14, 2006, 12:10 GMT

Michael Jackson has taken over two floors of the Hempel Hotel in London at a cost of almost £75,000.

The eccentric singer is accompanied by a 25-strong entourage, including his three children, Paris, Prince Michael and Prince Michael II.

Before moving into the hotel, Jackson, 48, demanded all candles be removed from his children's rooms so not to put them at risk of fire.

Jackson, who is due to perform at the World Music Awards at Earls Court tomorrow night (15.11.06), also insisted that complimentary chocolates are not supplied because his family must not eat any junk food.

Instead, the singer has asked for freshly squeezed fruit juices and smoothies.

Jackson will receive the Diamond Award - which is presented to artists who have sold over 100 million albums during their careers - at the WMAs.

The former King of Pop will recreate his groundbreaking 'Thriller' video at the prestigious ceremony in his first live UK performance since he sang 'Earth Song' at the 1996 BRIT Awards.

Former King Of Pop my backside.

Is Elvis the former King? No.

Mike's still the biggest selling solo artist ever and has the biggest selling album worldwide ever - Thriller. Until that record is beaten I won't accept any claims that he is the former kingof Pop

I'v kinda fulfilled my wish of being as close as i could to the king of pop, just a few hours ago i went to where he is staying and waited with all the other fans for him to wave at us from his window, and even better, saw him going out of the hotel... unfortunately i still feel like i havent seen enough of him, but that was such a thrill!! and i'm glad i had this opportunity... i dont know if i'll ever see him again.. Michael Jackson is the greatest.. god bless him.

Have they moved the Hempel Hotel to Notting Hill recently? It's always been in Bayswater. Perhaps 'Michael Jackson stays in Notting Hill' sounds better than 'Michael Jackson stays in Bayswater'. Or perhaps the reporter need to check their A-Z a bit more carefully. This is just shoddy reporting! How much else of the article is mis-reported?

I live close enough to the the Hempel Hotel to have a legitimate grievance here and as far as I am concerned, MJ's arrival at the Hempel is nothing to get excited about. I cannot walk along the pavements because of the barriers. I have to listen to the screams and chants of over-excited teenagers who lose their wad when a curtain twitches and in the morning, the place looks like a municipal rubbish tip and all for what........because some freak-show who used to sing some songs has come to town? Do people really have so little in their lives that they have to act like sheep around a once brilliant but now sadly twisted and reclusive oddball? If so, then they all probably deserve each other.......but why in a quiet residential area? Let him go to a hotel that can cope with a hoard of degenerates outside without completely messing up other peoples lives.

well perhaps the myth has finally been exploded!!

A degenerate, a has been, and god knows what else. The saddo's who worship this comic individual may at last get on with thier lives.

The hype around Mj has been laughable, he should now accept that a recluse is about as good as it will get for him now. Goodbye MJ you fooled some of the people for a long, long time. Good Riddance
