New Delhi - Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie inspired commotion in India's western Mumbai city on Monday when she boarded a local train while shooting a film about slain US journalist Daniel Pearl.
Jolie, accompanied by co-star Dan Futtermann, bought the tickets from a south Mumbai station and boarded the second-class compartment of the train during rush-hour.
Crowds jostled for a view of the actress - wearing a green T shirt and cargo pants - as photographers tried to click pictures of the star, but her bodyguards obstructed the view.
Later, the actress boarded the train again and enthusiastic college students and office-goers tried to get a closer look but were not allowed near the star.
According to reports in the local media, Jolie is likely to shoot in busy areas and marketplaces in Mumbai in the next few days.
Jolie, along with partner Brad Pitt, is in Mumbai for a week and spent the weekend sight-seeing in the city. The two arrived in Mumbai Saturday after a month of shooting for the film 'A Mighty Heart' in Pune town, 115 kilometres south of Mumbai.
The film is based on the story of Pearl, who was abducted and beheaded by terrorists in Karachi in 2002 while investigating the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
Jolie plays the role of Pearl's widow, Mariane Pearl, while Futtermann plays her husband.
The film's cast also includes Indian actor Irrfan Khan, who plays a Pakistani agent who helps Marianne Pearl in trying to get her husband freed from the terrorists.
