Britney Spears' wedding to Kevin Federline was a fraud.
According to divorce papers filed by the 'Toxic' singer yesterday (07.11.06) the date of her 'real' marriage was October 6, nearly three weeks after Britney and Kevin celebrated their wedding day.
The couple 'married' on September 18, 2004, at the Studio City home of wedding planner Alyson Fox with 25 close friends and family members in attendance, including Britney's mother and sister.
But rumors at the time claimed the 'secret' ceremony was a fake, as a pre-nuptial agreement had to be drawn up before they could officially become man and wife.
In September 2004, Us Weekly magazine obtained what it claimed were legal documents signed by Kevin, Britney and her attorney proving the September 18 nuptials were fake.
A spokesman for Britney said at the time: "This is all ludicrous. They are happily married, and I have no reason to believe otherwise."
At the time of the marriage Britney was reportedly worth $32 million.
Britney, 24, filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences and requesting custody of their two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, on Tuesday.
The divorce papers show that Britney is requesting certain personal effects be recognized as her separate property and that she does not want any of Kevin's money.
