Real curves make the woman: Winslet
Nov 6, 2006, 13:41 GMT
Kate Winslet claims her curvy body makes her a real woman.
The British actress has also revealed she refused to tone up for the nude scenes in her new movie, 'Little Children', because she wanted women to see that her body isn't perfect.
Winslet said: "Having had two children, it is very important to me that women on film are portrayed as real women. Women that the audience can relate to and think, 'I'm like that, she looks real - like me and my friends.'
"Nobody's perfect - I'm certainly not. I don't have a six pack, I'm not free of stretchmarks, I don't have perfectly pert breasts - and neither does my character Sarah."
The 31-year-old star - who became the first actress to get four Oscar nominations before the age of 30 - recently admitted that her role in 'Little Children' is the hardest acting part she has ever had.
She said: "I really love this film and I am so proud to be in it. It takes my breath away. My English humble muscle usually kicks in, and I tend not to express what I really feel, but it was the hardest thing I have done."
