Dusseldorf, Germany - Rock icon Rod Stewart, 61, denied Saturday during a visit to Germany that he was planning to get a vasectomy after fathering one more child, calling the report ridiculous.
Speaking in Dusseldorf just before he was to appear in a TV variety show, Stewart said the September reports that he would undergo the operation had been 'made up by the British yellow press.'
'All I said in an interview was that after I have an eighth child, no more trains will leave the station,' he told a Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa reporter in Dusseldorf in the west of Germany.
Stewart, who has sired seven children by five mothers, has been saying that he plans to marry fiancee Penny Lancaster next year and have one more child, but he declined Saturday to name the wedding day. The couple already have one son who was born last year.
He was set to appear Saturday evening on 'Wetten, dass', a public-television show, to promote his new album 'Still The Same.' The show, which is jointly produced in three German-speaking nations, features celebrity guests watching contestors perform strange feats.
