Kevin Federline digs safaris and helping Africans
Nov 1, 2006, 12:10 GMT
Kevin Federline is keen to follow in the footsteps of his wife's idol Madonna and help children in Africa.
Britney Spears has always said that she admires Madonna for her music and her lifestyle, and now her rapper husband is beginning to feel the same way.
Kevin, 28, said: "I want to go to Africa - I think it's a place where you can go and really, really help people and make a difference. And it's also a place I want to see - I'm into the safari animals and all that stuff. I grew up watching the Discovery Channel."
Kevin, the father of Britney's two sons, also revealed why he is never seen looking after the kids.
He said: "I like to keep my private life private. You don't see pictures of me with my kids everywhere because I don't - that's not me.
"But I never have cared what other people think about me. Because I'm Kevin, and that's it. There's no changing that."
The aspiring rapper also plans to write an autobiography of who he was before he became 'Mr Britney Spears'.
He said: "The book is definite. It will be a biography of my life until I met my wife, so people will better understand who I am. I haven't done it yet. You know, I'll get a ghost writer in there."

Kev's a nice guy but he is not going to make it in the hip-hop industry. Unfortunately, he has excudes that 'Vanilla Ice' image which we all know is so played out and out that he will never come back - at least not as a rapper.
Federline is kinda in the same boat. It is trying to put it down in rap and it's just not coming through. He does not have a voice for hip hop. I sometimes chill out in studios in NYC and Philly and have met many young cats trying to cut albums and, without listening to their tracks for long, I can tell that they won't go anywhere -- but obviously I keep my mouth shut because I just don't want to diss a guy that I don't know; that is likely not to be taken well.
But it's the truth. In hip hop, your voice needs to be an instrument along with the drums, synth and all else. Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Dre, Eminem, Wu Tang, Busta, Trech, ODB, Ice cube, -- and even back in the day with Melle Mel, DST, Newcleus, Fat boys, RUN DMC -- all these guys had unique voices that made their music fresh. Their voices flow over their beats like another instrument in the music. And not to forget Bald Head Slick - Gangstarr - you know his steez, I mean the brother keeps spittin' full clips and is probably one of the greatest rappers will all those skillz.
Federline does not carry a voice and neither does he have a presence on stage. Incidentally, I think the same of Jay-Z -- the brother has no voice man. His big but as far as I'm concerned, he is whack, and that would probably be very clear if Biggie was around.
I just don't see Federline crossing over and elevating to greatness. I know he is aware of the energy that one needs to bring on stage, like M.O.P when they 'ANTE-ed UP' but you know, he has no voice to carry and his voice is just not an instrument. He may be able to make it in pop music similar to the 'Back Street Boys' and could even collaborate with Britney -- but not Hip Hop. It's not his game and I wish people around him would be honest enough to let him know. I know he has the passion but it takes more than that to make a track that can command the airwaves. Maybe he should ask Bald Head Slick for an honest opinion -- then maybe he'll realize his raps are one-dimensional and hang up his boots. Kev just can't get mass appeal.
Watch ya domes peeps!
