Grampy Hugh Jackman
Oct 30, 2006, 14:50 GMT
Hugh Jackman's children call him "Gramps" because he keeps falling asleep.
The actor - who recently starred in the musical 'The Boy From Oz' on Broadway in New York - admits he can't help dozing off and insists power naps and meditation are the only way he can stay on top of his game.
He explained to People magazine: "I don't always get a lot of sleep, but when you're singing, the first thing to go when you're tired is your voice - it gets a little raspy.
"So, when you're singing 20 songs a night you have to get sleep. They used to call me 'Gramps' at home because I would have a nap in the afternoon, then get eight or nine hours of sleep at night."
He added: "The real key for me is meditation - without a doubt it transformed my life. Twice a day - it gives you energy. I've been doing it 10 or 15 years. I also take B12 shots twice a week."
